Hello and welcome to the weekend.
So, what are your plans for the LONG HOLIDAY WEEKEND (if that applies to you)?
I hope your weather forecast is as good as ours.
Have fun, be safe and maybe if you have no plans, you can read a good book this weekend.
WOW! You excel at interior scenes that are often lit from the side, either with natural light as in this case or artificial light from some source in the room.
Rich colors (I really like the purple on the book lying flat), terrific light as mentioned, nice textural detail that fades when nearing the window, and as always expertly composed.
This strikes me as one of those deceptively simple photos that creates a pleasing mood even if the viewer isn't sure why.
I have nothing in this league and no new candidate photos, so I went back to a shot taken in January 2017 and played around with it in FotoSketcher, aiming for a bit of a painterly look...
Wishing us all a productive and healthy weekend.
Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Well Dave, I’d say that is good enough, creative enough and unique enough to be printed. If I were a painter and used your original well composed image as reference, I could only hope that my painting would look as good as this.
I love it. And good chose of color for the frame.
Thanks for your detailed inspection and comment on my books in a window image.

Good morning Dave and Lorell. Good weather here as well Lorell.
No plans for the weekend for me.
I have really been enjoying your interior photo shoots Lorell. The lighting is so good. That bird photo does look like a painting Dave. Well chosen treatment.
I will start to post a few different photos from what I put on my photography page. Apparently hotdogs are very popular in Iceland, and here is a photo of one the places to buy one. We did try one and well, it's just a hot dog. A bit different taste as I think they use lamb and pork but still just a dog. Another photo is what the road looks like when you leave the city, or at least one stretch of it. Here we had pulled off to do some birding.
Hope the rest of the crew is doing well. Not much activity so far this weekend.

Don, looks like you had some good opportunities for street photography,
Did you have any problems communicating with the citizens who lived there? Were they speaking German?
Did they know about coney dogs?
We were only in the city for the first night and last night, but I did get some random street shots, mostly just to show the architecture. They have their own language but most everyone that we ran across spoke English very well. I believe Iceland used to be a colony of Denmark until the U.S. basically freed them, at least according to one Icelandic that we talked to.
Not sure if they knew about Coney dogs or not.
Not all the roads are that straight. If you go inland you run into different topography.

A telephone poll in 2011 indicates that 88% of Icelandic people hear English every day, and 65% hear English more than one hour a day. https://visitreykjavik.is/news/yes-we-speak-english
