Good morning all. Looks like it is going to be a lovely day here today in SW Georgia. Already 70F.

I am pretty much completely packed for our trip (finished yesterday) but DW still has some packing to do. I'll do a check today to try to make sure I haven't forgotten anything.

Here is a photo from our last camping trip. A bluebird busting a move on the dance floor. Actually, I don't know what he was doing but I timed it just right to catch this pose.

OMG, you got a winner there, DON!
That is comical, bright, and cheerful.
And "Busting a Move" is a perfect title for this image.
I am so excited for you DON.  Have a safe trip and enjoy every moment.

Do you think the generation of people who used these phones would have ever thought that the phones would shrink so much to fit in a person's pocket or purse?
(Taken at the Detroit Historical Museum.  If you feel like your motivation and inspiration for taking photos have dwindled, go visit a museum.  The possibilities that await are endless!)

Don, I just came across this FREE BOOK on post processing Landscape photos in PHOTOSHOP.
Maybe you can read some pages in this book while sitting in the airport:

Many photographers believe that post-processing can transform a subpar image into a masterpiece. However, I believe this notion is flawed. Post-processing should be seen as a complementary process to photography, not a replacement for it. Photography provides the raw material, and post-processing enables you to extract and showcase that information in a way that reflects your unique style and vision. Similar to cooking, if you start with low-quality ingredients, even the best cooking skills cannot produce an outstanding dish.

I'm excited to announce that I have recently revised and rewritten my eBook, "Landscape Photography Post-Processing with Photoshop." This concise, step-by-step guide will lead you through my post-processing workflow, from start to finish. For a limited time, I'm offering this eBook for free. Greetings all!

Don,
What a great capture. Love the title! What I thought of is he must be singing the opening line and number of the play, Oklahoma, " Oh What A Beautiful Morning."

Have a great trip!

Lorell,
What a wonderful photo. The sepia lighting takes you back to that era of glass plate negatives.

It is amazing how far technology has come in a short time. I am thinking also that the first computer was about the size of a railroad car and didn't have a whole lot it could do except math. Now we have a desktop or laptop computer on our phones and in our pockets!
Glad you support live theater, nothing like it! We have a theater group here that puts on five shows a season. Have not seen the one you did yet.

Speaking of Oklahoma, here are a couple of shots from a Koi pond tour of Oklahoma City. Some really get into it!

Thanks Rich. Yes, the play was great. If it comes your way I highly recommend you seeing it.

Those are some beautiful gardens. The koi look really big in the second photo.

Great shot of the phone Lorell. The color really adds to the mood, so to speak. It's fun to see those old phones in some of the old movies. I downloaded that ebook and took a quick look. I (hopefully) saved it on my iPad so I can peruse at leisure on the flight. I spent some time today making sure all my editing software was up to date on my laptop, both Adobe and Topaz.

Lots of greenery around that koi pond there Rich. There used to be a Chinese restaurant here locally that had a koi pond. Haven't been to that location in a while so not sure if they still have it. I heard it was under new ownership so maybe not.

So, all checked in and boarding passes printed. We will have them available on our phone app but I always like to have the paper as a backup. Electronics can fail at the most inopportune time. DW was able to get all her clothes packed into one checked bag so she only has a back pack for carry on. Since I have camera stuff I have that in my camera backpack and also a small carry on suitcase. The temp leaving Atlanta will be in the upper 80's but will only be in the upper 40's when we arrive in Iceland. Quite a change.

What a fun and fine photo Don.

Sounds you have carefully planned a great trip to Iceland. Safe and productive travels, sir.

I also enjoy catching animals in unusual positions: I have a number like that, a few of squirrels and of 4 different birds.

Lorell, you are the queen of museum photography. Your composition and treatment here evokes times past and displays the subject in wonderfully moody light.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!
