Weekender Sat-Sun April 22nd-23rd, 2023
#1
Several days ago Lorell posted a photo that she took to fit the theme of shooting a flower through the petals of another flower.

Since then, I've been looking for an opportunity to do the same.

Here's one I took yesterday; it's not as good as Lorell's, but I do like the effect along the bottom that is almost like a multiple exposure image...

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

On Thursday I grabbed my camera and went to the park to shoot SPRING BLOSSOMS.  When I got there, I definitely USED the technique that your image does such a fine job of showing, shooting a flower through a flower.  It is difficult to find a position or a cluster of flowers that will meet the purpose, but you did well, Dave. I  think how much more interesting and creative this shot is than if you just shot the TWO CLEAR stems isolated from the rest of the flowers.  It is creative and I think it adds mood.  You did very well.

My photos are still in my camera so I will have to share something from our club meeting the other night.  We got two more new members on Thursday.  OMG, we need a bigger room.

Have a good start to your weekend. Hope to see a lot of visitors here in the weekender thread.

Thank you, Lorell.

You used the word "creative" and right back at ya for your wonderful photo of what I think is an adult Snowy Egret in the breeding phase. That's such a unique and interesting concept for an image, and of course well executed in the composition and treatment.

I too was hoping we'd have a strong showing of responses and photos to this Weekender, but that isn't looking likely.

Maybe when visitors see that there is a new response, that will encourage more to reply and share photos.

So here's an image just to show that I can do more than intense colors set against a dark background...

Wow Dave, you did great on both photos. Having the foreground out of focus adds depth. Second one is just relaxing and soothing.

Lorell, love it. The black nails add a spooky feeling to it.

Getting late and no new photos so nothing from me.
Focus on what brings you joy! ~Unknown~
