Wide awake again at 01:45 - not by choice.

So I'll start us a Daily with two versions of an image I've titled "Employee Lounge"...

I prefer the color version over the slightly sepia one. What do you all think?

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Dave, Sorry to hear of your sleeping woes....no naps today!
I agree with you Dave. The color one is nearly a B&W with a touch of color to add interest. For starkness, go with the sepia.

Here is a shot of San Francisco circa 2006. Center is Market Street. Bridge center right is San Francisco-Oakland bay Bridge. Golden Gate Bridge out of sight far left.
This waas on a bus tour of California we took. I spent two years there on an aircraft carrier home port across the bay in Alameda.

Dave, Your photo tells a story. 2 chairs back to back.
Rich, Nice to see something NOT winter.

For us Jack Frost and his Hoar able cousin visited again last night. Someone tell them they are not welcome.

Thanks Grant. You are sure getting the frost this year of the winter that never ends!

Thank you Rich. I suppose subconsciously I was going for starkness; fortunately, both versions have plenty of it.

Nice capture of Frisco. What was your vantage point?

Thank you Grant. I must admit that I didn't realize the "back to back" story you mentioned. To my mind and eye, it was more a commentary of the third-rate employee break area this business provided. Employees used it as a smoking area, quite close to two No Smoking signs that are outside the frame of the image.

Lovely image of conditions that I'm sure you are tired of. Mother Nature needs to discipline Jack Frost to end his unwelcome behavior.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

I was going to say something about the back to back aspect of the chairs in the 'lounge' but declined. Wink Now that I see it was adjacent to no smoking signs I now see the chair arrangement as sentries watching the exits.

I never get to see hoar frost and rime unless I go to the mountains and well, there's no need to go there in the winter so I don't.

Dragged this out of the archives. It's like when the bird paints the picture for you.

Thanks Dave. I don't remember the name of it but was an overlook that the bus took us to.

Peter, very abstract, I like it!

MFI, that's a very astute observation. Sentries - I would never have thought of that.

I like your OOF image. As Rich noted, it has an appealing abstract quality.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!
