Hello All.
I hope your ST. Patrick's Day was fun.
I forgot how good it was to see the news showing clips of people smiling, dancing and having a good time as they celebrated together.
Got another busy day ahead of us, so I was glad I could start the daily for you all.
Enjoy the start to the weekend,
LORELL

Thanks for starting our Weekender, Lorell.

What a lovely old register, and as always, a professional quality photo. Mellow warm colors, rich wood an intricately worked metal. Beautiful image.

Sorry to switch subjects on you, but a shut taken yesterday that I wasn't expecting much from turned out better I than could have hoped...

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Lorell,
Another wide angle shot. Distortion is well controlled.
Dave,
The angle is great and unexpected. Good one.

We are in the midst of a kitchen remodel. It will take awhile.

Dave, Nice one. Actually, better than nice.
It is very artistic in nature and that appeals to me so much. Love the soft definition and beautiful rich colors.
A winner, Dave.

Grant, remodeling cannot get done fast enough. It may be only one room, but the whole house feels torn apart.

Agree. That's a really lovely image Dave.
and yes, particularly if that room is the kitchen.

That's a nice shot of the old register Lorell.

Thanks Grant, Lorell, and MFI.

The photo is of a small section of a hanging basket about a foot over my head - that explains the unusual angle.

I did little processing on this one: most of my processing time was spent in finding the right combination of crop & rotate to yield a view I liked. Then a little cloning out of some unwanted bits, followed by localized sharpening of the COI.

Here's a different section of the hanging basket. Again cropped & rotated, then a couple of  Brightness adjustment layers to fine-tune the values in selected areas...

You did it again, Dave.  You are no on a role with this series.
I like how the flower and bud closest to us is in perfect focus.
The next flower on the lower left is slighting out of focus and the pinks in the background are blurred.
The lighting has a lot to do with the drama in this competition.
Great job, Dave.

I found this still life setting on a table in front of a well lit window at  the Anna Maria Historic Island.  I got lucky with the natural lighting and the BLUE stained glass hanger behind the lacy curtains adding a little extra to the composition.

Lorell,
Lace and Stained Glass. Cool shot. Interesting light!
Hi Peter.
Dave,

I have already painted 2 1/2 rooms & we are remodeling kitchen and dining room plus putting in new flooring in 4 rooms. Lots to do.
One good thing about taking a year to start and then taking time one's ideas are allowed to evolve. Anyway it is fun making decisions.
It should function better.

You are really posting some nice shots lately Lorell. The colors and lighting are great. Your second shot, another interior is a winner as well. Very enjoyable.

Very well composed shot Dave. I like the selective depth of field. And our second shot looks good as well. Very low key with intense colors.

Peter, did you remove something from your post? Looks a little strange.

Hi Grant. Remodeling is no fun...

I had a nice ride up to the Birmingham area yesterday for a Genealogy conference. I left home before dawn and the light when the sun started coming up was fantastic. But I had no camera and really no subjects to shoot anyway.

I finally got around to developing my 4x5 pinhole and a roll of 35mm this morning. The first shot is a pinhole photo of a chapel in Callaway Gardens. The next 2 are 35mm shots from out last camping trip. I played around with the cabin to make it look old.
