Sorry that I have been MIA lately. I can bring a doctor's note.
Both DH and I came down with COVID on Tuesday.
We started with a bad cough and I thought I was just getting a cold. Then I noticed DH coughing a lot too.  When we woke up Wednesday morning, it was obvious, we were sick. Wednesday was the worst day.  We both got  the chills and fevers, mine as high as 102.1. We both took the home test on Wednesday and it showed positive for both of us.  Luckily that was the worst day so far.  Today we feek better but still feel like we have a severe head cold. I am not sure how long this may last, but they say the symptoms might last up to 2 weeks.  Oh joy!

We have no idea how we got this.  We were around people on Christmas EVE, Christmas and Tuesday after Christmas, and we have contacted everyone that we saw.  So far, no one has reported any illness.

So, we are doing a lot of watching NEFLIX and resting, though I had to start doing some laundry this morning and a little cleaning.  Yes, I know it can wait, but it feels better when things are clean and orderly.

This is the lighthouse in  Belle Isle Park.   Belle Isle Park, known simply as Belle Isle , is a 982-acre (1.534 sq mi; 397 ha) island park in Detroit, Michigan, developed in the late 19th century. It consists of Belle Isle, an island in the Detroit River, as well as several surrounding islets. The U.S.-Canada border is in the channel south of Belle Isle.

Here is a little history regarding the lighthouse:
There are several lighthouses in Michigan, about 150 of them if you really wanna know, and the Livingston memorial light is one of the most unique, not only in Michigan but in the United States. It’s one of only 3 lights erected as a memorial in Michigan and the only navigational light constructed of marble in the country.

Lorell, I'm sorry that Covid found you and DH. But I'm assuming you both are fully vaccinated and boosted; I hope that plus the well wishes of your friends here on FF and elsewhere will contribute to mild symptoms and a quick recovery.

Awesome photo of the Belle Isle lighthouse.

Two versions of one of Ron's roses (taken yesterday) that's still hanging on...

The version above looks just like I wanted in Photoshop, with color intensity about true to the scene, and values about right. But in my image viewer the colors appear far too intense.

This second version appears in Photoshop to have noticeably less intense colors and the values aren't as strong as those in the actual scene.

When posted here there doesn't seem to be very much difference between the two.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Seems that quite a few were infected with Covid as a Christmas present. Sorry to hear of yours, Lorell. Same happened to my Sister in law and her husband.
Happiness simply is.
There need be no pursuit.

Sorry to hear of the bout with Covid for you and DH Lorell.
I am the same way. Feel better, get up and go!
That is a pretty amazing lighthouse constructed with marble.
Sort of looks like B&W film shot with a red filter. Neat!

Dave, both adjustments are pleasing. Just depends on what you like. Good to see Ron's roses again.

Hi Peter.

Big storm coming our way for Monday. They are saying at this time a foot of snow. We will see.
Focus on what brings you joy! ~Unknown~

Rich, Oh no, snow coming your way means that it will eventually knock on our door. Good thing we just got our snow blower fixed and so did my daughter. We are so lucky. “We have a guy” that lives 4 houses down with a sign on his front lawn that says “small engine repair” . He is an engineer by day and repairs small engines as a hobby. He fixed ours for $60 and daughters for $85. Such a deal!

Thanks for the well wishes all. We now know of one other person who was with us on Christmas Day who has Covid now too. I hope hers is a mild case .

Dave, that is a lovely color, sort of a creamy pinky peach. Like it can’t decide what it wants to be. I agree, it is nice to still see Ron’s roses.

Till tomorrow,
Lorell
