Good day, Foto Friends

Sorry I've been MIA recently. A few times a year I might get early symptoms of a cold, but it rarely goes beyond that. But about a week ago I got caught in a cold and windblown rain, and now I have a full-blown cold - the first in several years.

So no new photos from me for a while. For today, here's a neighborhood sunrise shot in Feb 2017...

I hope all of you are happy and healthy, and I wish a happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate that holiday.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Sorry, Dave, I have been busy too.
I spent most of the day cleaning the house and getting ready for Thursday.  It is incredible how much dust accumulates when you have not thoroughly cleaned it for months.  I thought about this long and hard.  You do not see CLEAN, but you sure see DIRTY.  IE.  When everything is shiny and dust free, it all blends in.  But when there is some dust on a table or a lamp, or a mark on a wall, some specks of dirt on the floor, YOUR ATTENTION IS SURE DRAWN TO THAT!

WELL, I better quit expounding on the subject because I am tired and stressed and probably NOT making any sense.
On a positive note, I am waiting for the AMAZON truck to drop off a package to me.
I have decided to make cannolis for one of the desserts for Thursday.  I have always bought shells from the bakery.  I can remember paying 35 cents per shell.  Now they want $1-$1.50 per shell.  It is the filling that costs all the money because of the ingredients.  The Package will contain the metal forms to make the shells.  They were supposed to arrive yesterday and did not.  The latest email I got was that they will arrive today.  We shall see.  An hour ago I made the dough for the shells. Heck, it only contains, flour, egg, butter,, sugar, cinnamon, and some white wine (3 oz.). How simple and cheap is that? And they are charging $1.50/shell!  I think I may drink some of the white wine while I am frying up the shells. Couldn't hurt right?  It may get me into a better mood.  It will be the first time that I am attempting to make cannoli shells.  Could be that they are so expensive because many of them break in the frying process..  Who knows, but nothing that a few chugs of wine won't cure, right?

I enjoyed your silhouette, Dave. It calmed me down.  I shall see if there is anything that I can find to share with you today.

Well, I decided to SORT OF follow your lead, Dave.
Here's looking up also.  This was a spiral staircase that the club was able to photograph at the recent visit to the Kirk In the Hills Church.

Dave, sending good vibrations for a short cold!
Beautiful sunrise!

Lorell excellent view point of the staircase! Well exposed. Quite a climb! Hope you get your package today. You will be busy all day! What a nice dessert!

Peter neat video of the bees. The stump will be full of honey in a short time!

Here is a before and after Deep Dream Generator Manip  of Sylvan Lake in the Black Hills.
There actually was a resort Hotel on the left side of the rock where the ground is. It burned down in the early 1900's.

Deep dream generator looks a bit trippy. Nice shot of the lake.
Lorell's staircase is almost Escher like.
Nice sunrise Dave. It is my favourite time of day.

Don said he likes mushrooms. Here's one from my Flickr archive.
Polyporus arcularius.

Hey there.
Decided to post here instead of starting a new thread this late in the day.
Been in the kitchen all morning, but am feeling like Imgot things under controll.

Rich, your deep dream generator made that rock formation look like a really cool exotic house . I can just imagine what the inside would look like, like something from the JETSONS. remember that show?
By the way, your original is really great.

MFI, I think that might be one of my favorite mushrooms pictures of all times. It is so different but so intimate. Your macros are super.

Thanks Lorell. Smile
I do have some faves amongst the many relatively boring fungi shots in my collection.
