We have an airshow down at the beach this weekend.

The bad news is that I'm several miles away so getting close-up shots is a problem.

The good news is about my camera. Several months ago the auto-focus stopped working, making it impossible to get photos of moving objects. Yesterday while getting ready forf the show I decided to remove then reattach the lens, hoping that might somehow re-enable auto-focus. To my surprise, it worked!

I still didn't get any great photos, but a couple of long-distance shots turned out OK. Here's one...

I hope you all are having a good weekend. Stay safe.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Dave, WoW, nothing wrong with this shot and everything right! Moon makes the shot as does the pano presentation! Well done!

Yes, Rich is correct on both accounts, the moon and the pano.  DAVE,  I am happy that your camera is working properly.  You have to be exctactic.

Hi Rich,

DD and are back from our weekend trip.  Would you believe that I forgot to take my phone and did not take any photos?  I had my camera in the car and when we arrived in downtown Port Huron we were at the foot of the Ambassador Bridge.  The angle wasn't good and the sky was washed out.  THere were no good shots on site, so I got out of the wind and chilly temps and convinced myself not to worry about taking photos.

We had a great time and it was nice only being an hour away from home.
Next weekend we will repeat but have a three-hour trip to our trailer to close up things for the season.

So, I was looking for something to post on the FLICKR Slider Sunday group page and I found a photo of the Piere Marquette's end caboose that I took several year ago.  I applied a little  Topaz brushes to it, then I used Deep Dream Generator to produce the second highly manipulated image which I will post on FLICKR.

Have a good rest of your day.
And Blessings to All.

Thanks Lorell. I don't remember if you said anything about damage to friends and family in Florida. What a horrific storm and many people hurting.

Sometimes you just have to enjoy the ride and not worry about photos. Something I tell myself periodically!

I love what the software did to your image. I haven't tried it yet but still have the link. Looks very "Armageddon."

Thanks, Rich.
From what my husband read on line ANNA MARIA ISKAND was spared because the storm did not follow the predicted route. I do have a friend who lives near Lakeland. She is okay thankfully.

Dave, you got that shot just at the right time! I agree with Rich's comments. Nice work.

Lorell, I like your original shot of the train. Great detail!

Lorell, sometimes I think it's a good idea to forget the phone. Remember before cell phones? If we weren't home, we could not be reached and people didn't panic. Now, if I don't answer my phone, I get text, if I don't reply, family panics.....LOL! I have not turned on my phone's voicemail.....that would be another thing to check....I cancelled my home phone line. Cancelled Directv, too. It's been quieter around here. Now I need to get out the old camera bag and get in the car.....been so lazy the past year. .....
