TGIF everyone.

Well, after a bit of a drought I finally have a new image with which I can start the Daily. But it certainly doesn't look like my usual sort of image...

Kinda abstract, kinda creepy with dark shapes highlighted here and there as they emerge int0 view. I like that one area sort of looks (at least to me) like a dog's head. So what is it? I have little doubt that some or all of you will quickly figure it out.

I hope none of you suffered any damage or injury from Ian.

Have a good weekend, everyone.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Dave, You really should go through my Flickr to see so many similar shots.

As for Ian, I do hope for the survivors and mourn those who didn't.
Happiness simply is.
There need be no pursuit.

Dave, very interesting! I would say it is a flower wayyyyyy past it's prime! I can see a horses head lower left. Good one!

Here is a print I made in the darkroom many years ago, in a galaxy far, far away.

It came up out of the developer with a little yellow bias but I left it. I feel the warm tone adds to the overall feel of the scene.

Hi Peter!

Just saw on my news feed a few photos of Ft, Myers Beach, total destruction. My heart goes out to everyone affected by this hurricane.

DAVE, THANKS FOR THE INTERESTING START.
However, I have NO idea what it is.  I bet Rich figured it out though.

Rich, That is a beauty.  Gosh, the colors are great.  This would look great printed.

Good day, Peter.

I will be gone all weekend for an out-of-town wedding.  My daughter and I are leaving tonight and attending a Quilt Convention in the morning tomorrow and a wedding in the afternoon/evening.  Should be a nice girl's weekend.

Not sure about taking photos of anything interesting.  I will have my phone on me in case something good comes up.

I made some cannolis the other day.  Wish I could have shared some with you.   Do you like chunks of chocolate in yours?

Hi MFI. Yes, I would imagine you've seen and photographed lots of flora in a similar condition.

Rich, you (and MFI) are correct, it is the dried corpse of a sunflower. I don't think "past its prime" is accurate, though - this sunflower (and most of the other 10 I planted) never got close to prime.

Your guitar photo sings, and it glows with that lovely yellow, so I think you were wise to leave it that way.

It might be fun to see how it looks with the blossom alone desaturated a bit and lightened to make it a bit pastel in color and value.

Lorell, enjoy your girls' weekend.

I think I gained a few pounds just looking at your beautiful image.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Lorell, thanks for the comment!
Have a fun weekend and Carpe Diem!
The only cannolis I have ever had were at an Italian Bakery in Boston and they were filled with whipped cream.
Your's look MUCH better and chocolate chunks would be good! As I type this I am having a cup of Vanilla Yogurt and I added some dark chocolate chips.

Thanks all, didn't mean to make you drool....yes, I did.

Daughter is running late.
