Good day Foto Friends.

A month ago I took a photo of small cacti in a wide planter in front of a white house. It was nearing mid-day so the harsh light led to a rather stark image.

But I figured if I had enough patience I'd eventually find myself walking by the same house at a time when the lighting was more subtle and attractive.

That happened yesterday. The cacti and the house are facing east; the morning sun has just atarted to clear the houses and trees across the street, and I like the results...

You all have yourselves a good day.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Dave, I also like the results. Especially the orange / blue split light and shadow.

Thanks Grant. The pale yellow/orange vs the blue/purple is what caught my eye. And the light on the top of the cactus revealed a brighter green that I think goes well with both the paler and the darker colors. An added bonus is how this light began to reveal the small red bits on the edges of the cactus.

Thank you Natalie. As I've often said, for me 90% of successful photography is being in the right place at the right time, with camera in hand.

I think you will find it is the same for all of us.
So many times I've seen the photograph but didn't have the camera to record it with.

These birds are White Winged Chough. One parent and one babe. They are nesting again.
Happiness simply is.
There need be no pursuit.
