Wednesday is almost ended here. I'm well over the hump.
So here's a good morning to you.

I have to cage this plant to keep the White winged choughs off the flowers.

Hi Peter and any who follow today. Barely afternoon here so must be night down there.

Nice photos to start the day. Slow start otherwise so thanks for starting the daily.

I made a short video out of the GoPro content that I had during my ride through the motor nature loop at a wildlife refuge. No wildlife spotted though. It was fun riding the gravel road. Video quality is not the best after YT finished with it. The original is actually pretty sharp.

Hi, Peter. I had to google White winged choughs ....do they go for that flower for a reason?  Nice spider.....I like the lightened ones from yesterday, too.
Hello, Don....Your bike ride through the woods is very calming.....i'm surprised that there is so little undergrowth. Our woods have so many bushes, shrubs and other plants....yours are so clean!! ....glad your taxi stint has come to an end. Still waiting on my son's car repair....not looking forward to the repair bill....his car goes to foreigh repair shop....that mini costs him an arm and a leg when he goes there.
Great goat shot....it always amazes me how they can climb!! We have hands to grip with, yet we cannot climb where they do....amazing animals.
The sky was so beautiful, I took a snap with my phone. It's an old dairy farm. My inlaws lived there from 1940 to 1973. My husband and I lived there from 1973 to 1987. Now my brother in law lives there ( my son lives in a small cottage built on the farm for his great grandfather, who is long gone )

Peter, interesting spider, too bad you have to cage the flowers. Looks like a pretty bird but a pest.

Don, thanks for the ride along and the relaxing music. An original composition I bet!

Grant, what a beast! Good catch!

Natalie, beautiful clouds. Looks like a nice and neat dairy farm! A milking barn was being built in SD this week and it collapsed, ten workers injured. Haven't heard what caused it.

Thanks, Rich....guess I should have posted in Thursday thread. ha ha ha I forgot what day it is!
It's a shame about the collapsed barn....was it a storm? Hope the injuries aren't too bad. We quit milking cows in 1995. Switched to chickens, and of course lots of acres of beans and corn....dairy was way to labor intensive.....plus all the regulations and dairy herd health problems.....

No storm, looks like the trusses just started going and that was it.
Heck, just put the photo on the right day.

Birds have to eat and a lot of birds eat flowers. They contain nectar and pollen, both foods that birds bees ants and lizards might want to eat.
I don't blame any for doing what comes natural. The caging is so that I get some flowers to look at and hopefully to produce seed.
It isn't just the choughs, though they are capable of major damage. It is also the apostle birds, the crested pigeons and the various small parrots like the ring necked parrots and the red rumps.

I do grow flowers for the local species to eat. Food is everything about restoring the bird and insect numbers.

I used to have the agility of a mountain goat but these days, I'm a bit wobbly in the old pins.

Love Don's video. Is the soundtrack yourself, Don?

Crested pigeions eat most of the seed I plant.

Peter, beautiful crested pigeon! Great shot of it. Glad you plant stuff for critters. My little farm is full of flowering weeds and seeds.
