Good morning everyone. Already Thursday. Today is going to be a day of rest for me, I think. Nothing planned at all... that being said, I should probably take my Yashica D out and shoot that roll of film since it is loaded and ready. But it is already 80F and only a bit after 8 AM.

I don't have any long guns, but I do still have a few hand guns. Since we are sharing I took them out of the safe for a photo shoot.

Also made a short, 3 minute video from my ride yesterday. It is low res, not sure how to post a high res video to YouTube. Pay no attention to the black and white clips, I was playing around with some effects.

Hi, Don. Nice grouping of your pieces.

I tried opening the video but it wouldn't work.

I made the video public so it should be able to be viewed now. I had it unlisted before which is supposed to let anyone with the address able to view it.

Well there, thats a nice collection of side arms!
.38, .45, .22 and 9mm?
Is that a .38 S&W on the left?
I carry a SW .38 Airweight (5 rnd revolver - internal hammer) in all black finish for my conceal carry.
I keep hollow points in it, but it is absolutely a last resort option.
Avoid.
I'm hardly ever out alone without DH and we don't go out at night.
Avoid is the first line of defense.

I'm going to check out the video after I finish here.
(comment under photo)

This is a scanned film print from the early 1990s when my son
(on the left) was in his Kart Racing days. He ran Sprint (not enduro)
These are not "yard carts". This one ran about 75 MPH.
(on dirt tracks..good grief)
Neck brace, helmet, flame retardant suit.
In this photo, he is getting it ready for the new buyer on the right.

When he got married, I gave him all of the Kart photos that I took and they moved house several times and lost track of them.
I have not been able to locate the negatives so I may have given them to him too.

Nice Ride, Don! You owned the road!
Were those wild turkeys?
Looks a great ride. Thats how we ride. We don't do any urban riding.
Rural Backroads only.
Your camera did great and no big wind noise.

Patty, that is a S&W Chief Special, 38, 5 shot. It was supposed to be DW's but she never shot much with it and never carried. Second is a Model 19 S&W 357 magnum. Last is my Walther PPKS, 380 (9 MM short) that I carried for a while. I seldom carry now, but I've been thinking of selling at least the 38 and getting a 9 mm to carry. I've looked at several options. Yeah, I have hollow points in my Walther as well but I don't really want to carry it because (1) not really enough stopping power and (2) it is pretty valuable now. Good size to carry though.

75 mph that low to the ground must feel like you are flying! I remember a friend had a go cart when I was 11 or 12, and it wasn't nearly that fast but felt like you were really truckin' when going full speed.

That GoPro does a good job for me. Battery life is kind of short though. I had an extra battery but I was on my way home by then and didn't want to stop to replace. Yep, wild turkey. Didn't see any deer though. Only saw very few other vehicles.

Don, WoW, quite a collection of hardware! Thanks for the ride, fun! Glad it is not as loud as a Harley! What a great road, looked nice and smooth with no pot holes. Saw the turkey's, was going to ask if they were the chickens that crossed the road. Would be a good road to see deer, be careful! We have many get hit on I-90 here.

Patty, That is quite a Kool Kart! Fast! I did those in my HS years. Too bad about the prints and negatives.

Hi Rich!
Glad to see you today!

Don,
That little .38 is nice. I carry mine mostly in an ankle holster. A .38 snub is pretty much a close encounter weapon.
Which is a situation that is very likely in a potential self defense situation.
Originally, I was going in to purchase either a H&K or Kimber 1911 in 9mm (don't remember now, its been so long)
But I just don't like 1911 style. I don't feel ok about having one in the pipe and I certainly don't want to have to rack a round first.
So I went with the revolver. Since the hammer is not on the outside of the piece, and it has a heavy trigger pull, it is good for purse, jacket pocket/waistband.
I am not a Glock fan. Everyone I know has Glocks, but I find the grips uncomfortable.
(bbbut--you can drive over top of them or drop it them the pool)
Well, you're not supposed to drive over them or go swimming with them..duh!

GA just passed constitutional carry so we no longer have to be processed as future criminals and punished with and $80
fee so we can carry concealed. Conceal carry--no permit. I never open carry although its always been legal for us to open carry.
(I want all my money back!)

Kart Racing...the sprint drivers are slightly recumbent. It looks uncomfortable.
The night before a race, the kart goes up on saw horses and the tires are softened with (I think) kerosene.
For a long time, I didn't go to any of his races. (it's a mom thing)
I think the Talladega race was the first one.
Then I went to a few others. Some of them were held at night and I wasn't too keen on those.
He had fun, met some nice people, did his own mechanics: I was proud of his skills and happy to see the Kart sold.
Although the young man who bought it is a close friend and I was concerned for him too.
These two were in Fire Explorers together. And went to school together.
The friend is a EMT and firefighter.

Well, I had a busy day today and didn't get any photos to post besides the Kart pic.
I hope everyone had a great day.
I have enjoyed all the photos and Dons video..yeah you can't help but lean when watching! hahahah!
Drive Safe Rich and Lorell, where you at girl? (and Grant, Michael, MFIB--)
Smile
