damar, I'm sorry about the passing of your DH's uncle. But what a life he led!

Wonderful graceful arbor, Natalie. And a fine harvest.

Thanks, folks, for the nice comments about my abstract floral macro.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

We got 0.6" yesterday in a short period of time. But as far as annual rainfall, we are about 3" behind.
I plan on planting some herbs next season (basil and lemon balm for starters)
I need to research companion planting so I can keep tomato hornworms from visiting my tomatoes.
Well, I'll go start the Tuesday daily since I'm already here!
See ya there!

Lemon balm Melissa officinalis is an officially recognised medicinal herb. https://www.healthline.com/health/lemon-balm-uses

It is also attractive to bees and having lemon balm near bee hives could contribute to their calmness. Once planted, you'll have it forever, being more hardy than most mints it can survive in more arid conditions.

Lemon balm is also a useful companion plant for tomatoes, as is basil. Chives, oregano, calendula, parsley and thyme are also in that league.
Asparagus is good with tomatoes as are carrots which attract parasitic wasps, which help control tomato hornworms and other caterpillar pests. An important caveat: some folks say that while planting tomatoes and carrots together improves the flavor of both, it can reduce the growth—especially of the carrots. If you don’t mind super flavorful but smaller carrots, this combo is worth a shot!
Happiness simply is.
There need be no pursuit.

Thanks, Peter, Dave, for the nice comment about the bean arbor. I like it for picking the beans! no bending!
Thanks for the ideas of plantings with tomatoes, Peter. Good ideas.
