Hi all.
I went out again this morning and bought 10 more bags of mulch.  There was no one around to help me load the push cart flat bead that I had, so I did it myself.
I pushed out the heavy cart to my car, which unfortunately I had parked far away from the entrance and as I turned around from dropping in the first of 10 bags, a younger lady than myself came running up to my car and asked if she could help me.  I do not like asking people for help, but she would not take no for answer.  It was so nice of her to do this, and after telling her that she certainly did her good deed for the day, thanked her multiple times and said,
"God Bless You", I hope that she has a wonderful day and enjoys the feeling of showing someone compassion. Her compassion sure made me happy.  What a feel good experience for me and I hope for her too.

Well, another surprise for me today just happened moments ago.  I ordered a plastic rain barrel to catch the rain water so I could water my plants outside.  When I get done here I will get outside and start prepping the ground, by leveling it out so that we can put the barrel next the to the back of the house under a water gutter.  It was a surprise because it was suppose to arrive May 20-24. It came a day early!  I am thrilled because we are expecting possible heavy storms in the next few days and think of all the water that I am going to catch.  I also collect water and use it to pour over the grass in the backyard when I am out there with Ella and she does her little business.  We have all kinds of brown spots and dousing her urine with water actually helps.

Well, I decided NOT to use the photo that I shared yesterday of the steps on the old steam engine.  The photo was so dark and I just wasn't thrilled with it.  Maybe I will save it for another meeting when we have to do a B&W photo.  But here is a photo from my archive that I hope works good. I also like to have at least one photo that has a person in it.  I think people add a lot to the composition.  It changes the narrative.  Think about removing this conductor and how the story, interest,  and subject changes.

Have a good one, dear FF friends,
LORELL

Thanks for starting the daily Lorell. I like your train photograph.  I agree about the person - it would have been a good photo still, without the conductor, but it really changes the scene with him in it. Well done.

We went and bought 20 bags of mulch and 4 bags of garden soil yesterday. I did get Lowes to load in for me though. Unloaded it all myself with DW helping some when I was taking some around to the back yard. I asked her not to, but of course she did anyway. But she is the one spreading the mulch so there is that. Her project, her work. She'll call me if she needs me, otherwise she wants to do it herself. Fine with me. Smile

I'm working on learning a couple of dozen songs by heart for my music fest trip. So far it is going OK.
"A moment in time
Immortalized forever
With silver and light"

Lorell, sorry about all the problems I caused yesterday. Technology, love it or leave it! I'll stick around a while longer.
A dynamite composition and perspective Lorell. You're right, without the conductor it is just another train photo but an interesting one!
You don't see many caboose's on trains anymore.

Your, "God Bless You" story reminds me of one that happened in February. My flight to Alabama Via Dallas, TX was cancelled due to weather. I had to book another airline not going through Texas. When I got back I called the original airline to get my refund. It went real well, with no problems. At the end I said "God Bless You" for your help. Sort of a stunned silence on the other end and then a thank you. When I got confirmation of my refund on the email it was $200 more than half the fare.

Here is more of the College campus. It is called Dakota Wesleyan University, DWU. Or as many in town shorten to D-dub.

Hi Don,
Thanks for straightening out the mess yesterday.
Mulching is hard work!
Good luck with the songs, that will keep the brain active!

Hi, Lorell.....so glad someone helped you! I have helped others in the past, and also had people jump in to help me. All is not lost in our world!!
I like your second choice better than the first one. I felt it was a tad dark, too..but maybe you can simulate light painting in photoshop and lighten parts of it? The person does add a lot to the image!! Good one!
Hi, Don! I like gardening and flower beds, so I am like your wife, I usually was the one to do the mulching and planting!! It is like mental therapy!! Best wishes on your song memorization!
Sometimes it is nice to be rewarded for a good deed, Rich, Lorell....Rich's story reminded me of something. I ordered a metal shelf for my seed starting....$119 shelf. It was delivered, and a week later it was delivered again.....???? Not liking the feeling of getting something for nothing, I called the company. I explained what happened and she said to just keep it. It would be more trouble to pay return and also restocking fees. So....my honesty was rewarded!!!!
Rich....that's a pretty campus! Love the fountain!

Rich, college campuses are nice places to walk around in or bicycle through. Yours definitely fits the bill.  Very nice.  Thanks for sharing.
I loved the campus at my Alma Mater, Michigan State U.  We had the Red Cedar River running through it  It was quite picturesque.
