Michael, that' a fine hat! Nice collection!
Dave, that is a great shot of a beautiful rose, in your fine style!!
Rich, hamburger, LOL! funny! But oh, my, what a beautiful car!  That red is perfect!!
Lovely manip, Lorell, my mother loved red salvia!  And all that red inside the auto, wonderful! Old cars sure were more impressive than modern ones!!
Grant, I did not realize fire hydrants were that long!!  Great find!!  and those leaves are pure joy!  But glad it's not fall right now!  I'm so ready for spring! Is your red flower a zinnia? Unusual one! It does pop against those mellow greens, as Lorell said!

Here is my contribution....I love these little Million bells (Calibrachoa) I got some for the bees!!

Grant, I do remember these. Must get down below the frost line which is further down in your country!
Beautiful red leaves and flower.

A whimsical and cool painting! I like it!

Lorell, not your cookie cutter dash of todays cars! WoW!

Natalie, WoW, wonderful flowers. They have a 3D look to them.

Coming home from a concert last night I noticed the Palace was all red so of course I had to get a photo!

Michael, It fits the bill this Challenge. Good one.
Natalie, Not to step on your parade, But in my photo business I spent a whole lot of time sitting in a chair beside artists tweaking images of paintings, then printing out tests and Then scribbling down the recipe in PS numbers.

Then we would look at images in a North light window to determine if the result was acceptable. Many hours were spent in this way and I have to say one could stare way too long and get confused.

Here are some subtle but powerful changes that you might be happy with. Or you might hate them. At any rate perhaps they may be of use to you. Again I don't wish to step on toes.

1st Change in Selective Colour Red Channel

2nd Change in Selective Colour Yellow Channel

3rd Change in Saturation Red Channel

An interesting, educational and enjoyable thread.

Before spending too much time on getting the reds right, just what is the right red?  When you order a red car, whether you order it from Ford, GM, or Stellantis (Chrysler), the reds are all different.  And then we have the way our monitors are configured to display reds.  Please don't fret over the REDS keep you from posting your REDS.

Rich,  I'd say your timing was perfect.  Do the colors change every night or during the same night?  This really looks sharp.

Peter, Looks like there might have been some frost on the berries earlier in the day. I like how they glisten.

Natalie and Grant, thanks for demonstrating your process.  What was the original color of the Clementis?  One of the tools in Topaz Studio does a nice job of color replacement. I do not use it often but maybe I will see what I can do and post something in this thread.  Natalie, the clematis is so clear and the green vines in the background sure make the flower pop. My favorite is the geranium with the purple flowers.  Doesn't purple look nice with RED?  Maybe this year I will do Reds and Purple flowers in my front yard. I have to remember how the tiny white flowers add an important element to help brighten up the trio.
