Good day, folks.

The light on my early morning walk yesterday was pretty good for photographing flowers; an even layer of marine haze countered the harshness of the strong morning sun.

Here's a Red Day Lily taken in the parking lot of my local mall...

Then I noticed a Monarch butterfly moving from flower. Anyone watching me chase it must have thought I was a bit daft, but I managed one good shot...

BTW, I heard a news report that said the Monarch population in the US has unexpectedly increased recently after years of steep decline. Still not where it was some years ago, but an encouraging development

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Any increase in wildlife is to be treasured. Beautiful lilliums and monarch.
Happiness simply is.
There need be no pursuit.

I enthusiastically agree.

And thanks for your kind reaction to the photos.

Smile I'm a sucker for flowers and insects.
Also sunrises and sunsets.
