Apologies for the shortcomings in the free software being used for the forum. As yet I have not found the issue although admittedly I haven't spent as much time as I probably should on tracking down the problem. What I do is simply go to the website without even logging in and I can tell immediately if there is a new message.
Maybe I should investigate purchasing a commercially available software package with proper support, and make the forum subscription based to offset the cost. I'll start checking on that once I return from an out of town trip, and can find the time to do so. Recently I just haven't had the time to devote to researching the problem with not being notified of new threads via email.
