North Carolina has really been devastated and many parts of the roads and bridges are simply not there any more.
So many people haven't even got the land they were living on any more. Many others just washed away with their houses and cars. It is a disaster zone.
Maybe if you take a photo of the tree that drips on your truck, we may have a go at identifying it for you.

The bird is the mallee ringneck. or the Australian ringneck from the mallee zone. Barnardius barnardi.
