The facts of the matter are that many birds and animals eat other birds and animals, let alone fish eat other fish. Many birds and animals will prey upon baby birds in nests. It is an easy take-away restaurant.
These beautiful birds are given that name because of their habit of hanging these small carcasses on a stick like a butchers hook, for their fledglings to eat.
Happiness simply is.
