More fine images showcasing your city, Rich.
Thanks Lorell. Yes, this episode has been pretty tough – not quite the most intense pain I've experienced, but certainly among the most prolonged. But today has been better.
In an earlier Daily you gave us some good tips about B&W images. I'd like to offer another tip related to black & white:
I've often had color photos that - despite being well-composed, having an interesting subject, and also good sharpness and bokeh – just weren't working. Quite often temporarily converting to grayscale quickly reveals that the problem is with the values; for me it's usually a case of a too narrow range of values – not enough value contrast to create a strong COI. Sometimes this B&W conversion shows how to make the image at least somewhat successful; other times it tells me that the image can't be saved.
Nice Diptych. I agree with your plan to make the heavy black areas smaller. If that doesn't do enough, maybe try something a little less stark than pure black.
Good examples of how photos of simple common items can be effective.
Thank you for your words of commiseration, Rich.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!
