Hi, everyone!
Patty, that is a pretty pretty flower on your lantana.....I've never planted one, but it certainly is worth thinking about.....I used to have several flower  beds and would spend a lot of $$ on annuals every year because they bloom all summer, compared to perrenials.....but the older I got, the less I spent time planting and now, none. I have one 5 gallon pot of flowers, and they are red and white. I like your temporary raised bed.....some people put potting soil in the holes of the blocks and plant flowers, like marigolds and other flowers that discourage bugs or attract pollinators.
Dave, Rich, you have some wonderful skies!  I have great sky views, but I don't get the beautiful colors  very often.....glad you guys have shared yours!
Lorell, that's a pretty pink flower, I can't ID it, tho.....
Patty, about 25 years ago the poultry company wanted us to plant a wind break, (actually to hide chicken houses from neighbors so they don't complain about all the chicken houses) they paid 80% of the cost .....they recommended Leyland Cypress. You saw Leyland Cypress go up all over the place....even in yards with no chickens. Well, those trees have a life span of about 25 years....then they go all to pieces. They also got eaten by bagworms ...They are shallow rooted and the tops start to die out and then they fall over. So, of the 40 trees I planted, I have 2 scraggly ones left. The clean up is a mess... I wish I had not planted those awful trees. I replaced them with about 100 Green Giant Arborvitae ....they said they were less succeptible to bag worms. HA!  For the first 6 years I had to spray heavily to kill bagworms. I lost about 4 trees to bagworms. Now that the trees are huge, they are less likely to die from the bagworms eating them, but they are too big for me to spray anyway. So far they are doing ok, an very pretty. I love how they smell.
