Oh, how pretty Lorell!
Love the range of pinks and violets! Is that an asian magnolia?
Petunias: I love them! I have a shepherds hook with nothing on it
(my geranium pot got too heavy) Maybe next year!
Your night time temperatures may be little lower that ours and I don't know if humidity is a factor?
Probably the size at planting. Mine came in 19.3 oz containers which are approx 4.25' high and 3.5" Ø.
did top dress with Black Cow composted manure but I put some wood chips down to reduce splatter when watering.
I'm not confident that my medium is deep enough and this frame is over where the pool was. DH roto-tilled the ground but we have some hard pan under our clay. I'll know by August! (when its hottern' 400 hunnerd hell)*
(it's a local saying) but if the roots are too shallow the plant will look bad by then or tip over!
Yes, we are tree'd in too..we don't see big sky unless we get out of the neighborhood. Whats worse is we planted Leyland Cypress on the side property lines which has 'walled" us in. We are taking them out this fall. More sky, more sunlight!
* hotter than 400 hell--no I don't know what 400 hell is, but I guess its hot!
