I didn't realize that Natalie. Tell me, how is a wooden shoe stretched??? Get it wet and insert stretcher?

Now I'm getting confused. LOL!  It's a stretcher for leather shoes, you insert it into a leather shoe....the stretcher itself is made of wood. Some are expandable so you can increase the size of your shoe if it's tight.
