BTW, I misstated something about the chemical situation. It was a a potential gaseous leak that, fortunately has been avoided so far. Apparently they managed to cool the liquid chemical, then their was a small leak of liquid; this was a good thing because it was easier to control the leaking liquid than it would be to control a release of the dangerous gases into the air.
So while it's still a very serious situation, things are looking better.
