Thanks for starting a Weekender for us, Grant.

Nice photo; looks like a pleasant spot although perhaps sometimes cold and windy.

Two shots of the sunrise this past Friday; the same house just different vantage points...

1) Sunrise and sunset photos are usually in landscape orientation, but sometimes I intentionally break that convention...

2) Interesting that half of the sky looks like it's in shadow - I don't know how that could happen...

I hope all are having a good weekend.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Greetings everyone from the land of fog. Our temps have been very mild, snow is melting giving us heavy fog at times.

Grant, interesting photo. Agree with Dave and the included figure in the background gives amazing scale to the photo. Looks like some erossion on the cliff.

Interesting as always Dave. The first has good detail in the shadows and good composition!

I agree on the second one, where did the shadow come from? Interesting! It's as if a card was held across the image to "dodge" that part of the sky.

Here is one I took at Balboa Park in San Diego, CA. EXIF data stated 2006. I titled it "Into the Light".

Dave,
Difficult light to capture. Dramatic.
Rich,
Good subject.
The Bay of Fundy has some of the highest tides in the world. This was shot low tide. At high tide the cliff would be mostly submerged, hence the erosion.

Bay of Fundy looks a tad too cold for the likes of me. To a landlubber the sea is always something to be cautious of.
Agree that Rich chose a good subject.
The answer for Dave's shadow, lies in the clouds.

It is like where the clouds let the light out.

Thanks for the comments on my sunrise photos.

Very pleasing photo of the arches, Rich. I have been there.

Unusual and lovely cloud formations, MFI.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Grant, love your image but boy, that's a rough beach to lay out on!! Looks a bit chilly!!
Hi, Dave. You always get the pretty skies. Ours are boring in comparison.
Rich, I hate the fog.....worry about those that have to drive to work in the am. The other day the fog was bad and there was a 40+ car pile up on the bridge that crosses from the Eastern Shore of MD to Annapolis/DC area. Glad I wasn't going anywhere ....
I love how your "Into the Light" draws the viewer into the shot....Nice!
Peter, interesting shadows cast by the clouds. LOL! I see an anteater in the sky!

Thanks Natalie! I see that anteater now on Peters photo, neat!
Driving in the fog or other bad weather is risky. The problem is "the other guy". many don't slow down!

Funnny thing, Smile
I've had that/those photos since 1973.
This is the first time I've also seen a long nosed anteater in it [Image: exclamation.png]
It is strange because about a week apart in the same year, I also took this shot from nearer the farmhouse and I always saw the elephant..
