Well geez, we cannot start the month off without a daily, right?
Happy November all and wishing you a month filled with blessings.
Tomorrow are photo club is getting together for an INDOOR photo shoot.
We are planning on bringing things that we could use to set up a still life, demonstrate a cool and interesting special effects technique or photo lamps, backdrops, etc.
I volunteered to bring in some things for set-ups as well as my WHITE BOX. I made a white box about ten years ago by cutting the sides out of a GORDON FOOD's box and then cutting three windows in it, 2-sides and a top, and filling the windows with tissue paper. The box has been outside in the wind, on the front porch, in the basement, etc. It had seen better days and when I looked at its condition, I knew that I had to build a new one. I bought some extra strong foam board, some thin interfacing (used for sewing), and some WHITE DUCT tape. All together it was about $19. I finished the project yesterday and am proud of how it came out. I have enough lights I think to illuminate it, I am going to see how it looks later this evening after the sun goes down. But I did a little practice using the sun coming in from the front window and one exterior light overhead. I have additional lights that I will try later. I got the idea regarding using the white foam board from a YOU TUBE VIDEO. I also have a white poster board along the bottom and backside fo the interior so that you do not see any seams in the the back.

Thanks for starting the daily Lorell. I just checked in to start it myself. That box looks great and the photo is perfect. I've never tried anything like that but it looks like it would be fun and good indoor photography fun when the weather is not nice.
I made a short YT video of a clip of my recent motorcycle ride on the very curvy Tail of the Dragon in Tennessee/North Carolina. I had the GoPro set wrong so it recorded it at warp speed. This is about a minute and a half of part of the ride. Not happy with the quality, the original video was much better.
Lorell, I am quite impressed with both your light box and the photos.
Hi Don.
Sorry I've not posted the past couple of days. I'm in a slump with my photography – just haven't taken anything worth showing. Plus the end of the month is always a busy time for me as I compile an EOM analysis of our investment accounts and try to figure out what changes I should consider.
Happy November to all.
Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

I'm desperately in need of new equipment. Much of mine is more than fifty years old and has had what I'd call rough treatment. My favourite zoom macro is 45 years old and it has been dismantled for a few years. Haven't got around to putting it back together and quite possibly will find that some parts may be missing by now.
Here's hoping someone buys me a winning lottery ticket. My purchases never won anything.
Thank all for the supportive remarks.
Peter, I think you could get some USED equipment at a fairly reasonable price.
I am sorry that money is tight. Are the prices inflated in Australia as they are here?
Yes. Everything has been inflated at the benefit of supermarkets etc. At the defecit of the general population.
Sadly I don't have the pawn shop type thing, they call cash converters in the costal towns.
Backpackers(slave wages workers on a working holiday) and travellers swap cameras out for cash.
So next time I'm in a major centte I may have some luck.
As it is, I can still take photos of limited capacity.
The little Olympus TG-1 has been such a great little camera but I'm afraid I may have dropped it too many times.
Lorell. awesome light box! Well done! Back in the film days I used white poster board and flash diffusers.
Don, what a great ride and road. You need to come to the Black Hills and ride the Needles Highway and Iron Mountain Road.
Greetings Dave and Peter.
Getting caught up on chores after my week long trip to Tennessee. Smoky Mountains were beautiful! We were pleased to see Carrie Underwood at the Grand Ol Opry. Many photos I will share.

My Nikon D80 body is still working fine but I broke the original lens that came with it and am using very old non digital lenses.
The Olympus has had a couple too many hard drops and it is TG for tough. A great little camera with none of the drawbacks of compact cameras. Other than they didn't make it tough enough for a rough nut like me. It is no longer water resistant because I've broken the corner of the casing where the cable connection sealed door is. It still works but it is suddenly too slow to process each shot. Maybe I should try buying a new memory card for it.
Money's a bit tight these days. I'm living on the old age pension.
I've been dazzled by shots I've seen by a friend using the Nikon P 900, which I believe is what is known as a bridge camera.
So I'd get a new lens and a new body in one.
I have heaps of older film cameras. I can't afford film these days. I'd need to be selling photos to pay for that.
