Good morning - we made it back yesterday from our West Virginia camping trip. Gonna be a busy day today... wash clothes, mix chemicals, develop film, process photos, clean the camper, etc. Plus I am giving a presentation tonight to the photo club on our trip to Iceland. I'll try to catch up on FF sometime today or tomorrow, but I'll share this photo from the trip before I go. This was an old mill at the campground where we stayed. This is a quick process of it, I might go back and try to tweak it some later.

Oh, nice one, Don.
I hope you brought more like this back from last week’s trip. A lot of nice details and colors in that composition.
Good luck with your presentation to your photo club. I get nervous when I have to do things like that.
My photo club’s meeting is this Thursday evening. Here is one of six photos that I will bring for SHOW AND TELL on Thursday.

This is on the Detroit River.
I think this boat does practice exercises several times a week, if not every day on the Detroit River.  Last year we were lucky enough to see this exciting demonstration when our club took a photo field trip along the Detroit River Walk.

I was reading a recent publication of Amateur Photography magazine and there was a good article on B&W photography.  There were two tips that think will stick with me when it comes to selecting subjects, photos, etc., for black and white and also for post-processing.

1) If you are going to take a photo in B&W of a landscape or seascape, make sure your sky has clouds in it.  A blue sky does NOTHING for a black-and-white photo's composition. I got lucky in this shot since those were the real clouds in the sky that day.  It certainly does add a new dynamic to this composition, I feel.

TIP #2)  When processing your B&W photo and adjusting the contrast, highlights and shadows, etc., turn the photo upside down in your software to examine those details and not be distracted by the subject.  I think that is a great idea.

Sorry I've been AWOL. Been going through a bad spell with my back - can't sit, stand, or recline without pain. Haven't taken any photos in 8 or 9 days.

Will return when I can.

You all take care.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

I have sympathy for all those with back pain. I suffer from it a lot as well.

An idyllic shot there Don. Like Lorell said, lovely details and colours.
You certainly captured thoose clouds well, Lorell.
Happiness simply is.
There need be no pursuit.

Very nice image, Don. As Lorell noted - lot's of good things there.

Lorell, the two different streams of water (are they from hoses, or maybe something like water cannons?) add a lot of energy to your fine image.

Hi MFI. Sorry to hear that we're members of the same club. stay safe from the heat.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!
