Go the Matildas. Two up at halftime. Could have been three apart from a slim chance of offside.
No matter, the Matildas go to the top of the group with a 4/0 victory over Canada, the Olympic champions.
What a match!

Congratulations to the Matildas for their dominating performance in a must-win situation. win.

Even more impressive, IMO. was Japan's demolition of Spain.

Previously, Norway easily beat an outmatched Philippines as expected, while Switzerland wasn't very impressive in their clinching scoreless draw vs New Zealand.

Yes, MFI, it was a Sweet Pea blossom.

But I don't know what this one (taken and processed yesterday) is; it looks like it could be a variety of a Bottle Brush flower but it's quite unlike the ones I usually see here...

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Looks like Callistemon citrinus. Lemon scented bottlebrush. But I'd need to get an idea of the morphology of the plant. There are so many red bottlebrushes.
For example; This is Callistemon phoeniceous.

Though 'bottlebrush' actually covers a few of the Myrtaceae and thus it could be a Kunzea or a Melaleuca. So it doesn't have to be a red flowered Callistemon. So you see, ID of a flower isn't always easy if it is of a red bottlebrush.

eg: here is a photo I took of Kunzea baxterii.

and this is Melaleuca coccinea again like the above, in my garden.
