No Daily yet? I guess I'll start one.

Some colorful and sharp floral blades, taken this morning...

Tonight at 6:00 my time the USA plays Netherlands in the Women's World Cup. This is a rematch of the last WWC final. The winner should end up taking 1st in their group, which means an easier game against the 2nd place finisher from another group when the knockout round starts. I'm not overly confident in a US win: this year's US team is quite different from that of the last WWC, with many young players and a lineup that may change each game. But I still give the edge to the US women, probably in a very close game.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Hi there.
I know that I have not been around. We have had out-of-town company since Friday. I was exhausted after saying goodbye to them on Sunday night. I had every intention of DOING NOTHING other than sewing on Monday and then my husband announced that he thought I should take him to Urgent Care. He told me that he had been dizzy for over four days but did not want to mention it because he didn't want to ruin his visit with his brother (+ daughter and SIL). It was three years ago that he suffered a major heart attack that he was lucky to survive. He was scared, but he tried to stay calm to avoid getting me worked up.

The nurse at Urgent Care gave him an EKG, and that came out as normal as could be considering that he had damage in his heart from his previous heart attack. My husband has chronic ear infections, it after the doctor's exam, it appears that he had another. Although ear infections and water in the ears could cause dizziness, after the doctor listened to DH's description of his dizziness, the doctor said that he might have VERTIGO or a stroke.

So, to the hospital, we went. By now it was 2 o'clock and after going through registration, we got into an ER room at 4:30. Now the ER doctor checked DH and said that he thought my husband had VERTIGO, but could not rule out a stroke unless he sent DH for a CatScan. Four hours later, after DH's blood work and Car Scan looked good, DH was released from the hospital at 8:30 pm. He has VERTIGO and he is so unstable. Today we did a follow-up visit with our family doctor. It is always good to check in with him. It may take as long as 2 weeks for DH to feel better, I hope it happens soon.

So, I apologize for my absence. I see that you have been getting along just fine.

Rich, I am glad to hear that you are making significant progress with your hip. I feel that procedure will be in my future. In spite of my swimming exercise, my hip hurts more than it doesn't. And I wobble when I walk.

Dave, I have enjoyed reading your predictions and I watched USA's first game in the tourney. I know that the outcome was a lot closer than you predicted. I am hoping that it was just because maybe our young girls had FIRST GAME JITTERS. In regards to Rapino, I hope she is doing better by giving psychological support to the newbies because she sure didn't do anything on the field to help our team in the first game.

I was wondering how you engineer your predictions. Have you watched all of the teams play games, or just done a lot of reading on the teams, players, and other broadcasters? Well, I will be watching US tonight and I am definitely a little nervous. GO USA!

I have enjoyed all of your florals lately and today's image is colorful and exciting. My eyes move around so much, darting every which way.

Hey, Peter, I enjoy your comments and sense of humor. I am always eager to read something that you share because I know it is going to make me smile.

Grant. Good to see you posting on a regular basis. Thanks for posting the photo of the previous kitchen. I see a definite similarity between that one and your new one. You definitely like the color yellow and both kitchens are bright, well-lit, colorful and cheerful. My kitchen used to be yellow. I would like to paint my kitchen again. It has been 20 years now! Wow, it is overdue, right?

Don, I hope you are having fun on your camping trip. I bet you are looking forward to seeing the grandkids.

LORELL

PS. My photos went over really big at the meeting. I only had four but everyone was met with positive feedback. I had a good night.
Thanks all for your encouragement and support.

Thanks Grant.

Lorell, I was about to PM you to see if you are OK. So sorry about your husband's health scare, but very glad that it is the least serious of the diagnoses. I'm not saying vertigo is pleasant - I once had it (or something similar) that lasted about a week; wherever I was (inside a room, in the car, outside) everything felt like it was rotating for a few seconds, then it snapped back to where it started and starting rotating again, over and over again.

Thanks for your comments on my colorful blades.

No, I haven't watched most of the teams play. I base my predictions on several kinds of information: 1) each team's world ranking before the World Cup began; 2) injuries to key players on each team; 3) each team's performance in games leading up to the World Cup; 4) some teams have a history of giving certain other teams problems (for example, Sweden's defense usually does a very good job of stifling the US offense), so I consider that; 5) results of recent games between the two teams; 6) and how each team has looked so far in this World Cup. But I confess that my predictions are seldom accurate; if I had placed bets on all of the games played so far, considering the odds I would be in the red.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!
