A good weekend to us all.

Most squirrels I come across on my walks quickly scamper up a tree to a place 6 to 10 feet above, where they feel safe enough to peek around the trunk or a branch and scold me loudly.

This one was either incautious or brave, because he stopped less than a meter overhead, giving me an opportunity for a close-up...

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Good morning Dave. Your nice squirrel photo reminded me of a photo I took about 10 years ago in Texas, at Lost Maples nature area.

Had quite the thunderstorm last night, constant lightning for about 20 minutes and got a little over 1/2 inch of rain. Clear now though but 89% humidity. Typical for this time of year.

Greetings all!
Dave, quite a good grab shot! Well exposed and sharp!

Don, your squirrel looks right at home! Good one!

I don't have a squirrel so I came up with these.
From a trip to Plymouth, MA

Plymouth Rock and a replica of the Mayflower.

Hi Rich - we visited that spot many years ago. Maybe we'll make it back one day.

Went out to get the mail last night and there was an orange glow, but by the time I got back to grab a camera, it had faded somewhat. Still, I took a few images.

Thanks Grant!

Don, maybe the smoke from the  fires in Canada helped!

Greetings Peter.

Rich , Almost 10 years ago we witnessed the clearing and burning of land to make way for cattle ranches.
All for the almighty hamburger.

In Australia we have cleared more land in the past 20 years than we did in the previous 200.
