TGIF everyone (and happy Saturday, MFI)

Another from my archives (March of 2018); a shot of a nicely colored succulent, reprocessed late last night...

I wish us all a good weekend.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Hi Dave. It's actually still Friday here. 10:50 PM. In just over an hours time it will be Saturday. Yes. Smile

That's so vibrant your photo. Of course I love the way you composed is as well.

Heh, I got distracted and didn't finish this post until 11:07.
The cricket is on, you see.

Thank you, MFI.

Can you translate "The cricket is on" for me?

Grant, thanks for your enthusiastic reaction my old photo.

Test Cricket between Australia and England. It is a bat and ball game where the ball is often called a rock, mainly because it is rock hard when it hits you at 98 mph.
It is currently being played in England so I have to be up in the middle of the night to see it. Test ccricket is a game that takes five days of endurance.

Good afternoon gentlemen.

As was said, vivid colors Dave. Really jumps out at you!

I thought you might be talking about the game, Peter. We watch a lot of British TV (Acorn and Britbox) so I am somewhat familiar - but I didn't know about test cricket and lasting so long. Interesting.

Here is one of the first photos taken with my new to me Lumix xs80. Still finding my way with it.

I've long been a fan of SLR cameras but am unimpressed with the frailty of digital lenses. I've killed two so far. Sure they were Nikon(made in Thailand). I could buy Nikon(made in Japan) but they are way more expensive. I was looking at the Nikon 900 as it seems to create some awesome detail. My son has a Lumix and I was impressed with some of his photos.
I'm not really hip with all the latest stuff on the market but there seem to be some reasonable deals on 'slightly used' Nikon 900's out there.

I hear you Peter... I would prefer shooting with my DSLR cameras. But with an upcoming (actually next April) trip to Scotland/Ireland I wanted something smaller but still shot RAW. I'll be taking mostly "travel snapshots" I imagine, not really a photo trip. Now when we to to south Texas in Feb for a birding trip, I will have ALL of my DSLRs and lenses. Smile BTW, this camera was used in like new condition. It does look new. I will probably take it out tomorrow for a longer test.

Dave, that is gorgeous! The colors blend well together. Highlights are  not blown out and detail in the shadows! Love it.

Sounds like a very dangerous game Peter, I will pass!

Don, what an awesome image. so sharp and well exposed. I think you arre going to like that camera!

A little about me. I have been missing as I am recovering from  total hip replacement surgery. Still under home health care for physical and occupational therapy and weekly nurse visit. Surgery went well but a few other things to work out. I am doing good on walking with a walker and getting up and down stairs. Can only go out to DR and church or I lose coverage. That really miffed me as we had so many photo ops the past couple of weekends here. Hope to be back soon with some photos. I do keep up with lurking!

When I was discharged from the hospital the Dr and staff gave me a succulent. Not as pretty as Daves but a nice gesture. My daughter is starting to collect small ones so I gave it to her.
Have a good weekend!

Thank you, Don.

Enjoy your Lumix.

Hi Rich. Good to see you back, and thanks for the kind response to my succulent shot.

I'm glad the surgery went well and the rehab is going well. But sorry about some of the limitations. It sound like the health insurance company is practicing CYA. How long‎ will they insist on that self-serving limitation?

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!
