I've been hoping Lorell would start a Daily to share some photos from her outing to Port Huron, but I guess she's st ill processing them.

The K-M (Ketchup and Mustard) rose bush at late friend Ron's former house seems to be deteriorating: most of the blossoms there now don't have that defining Red & Yellow color pattern; instead they are more and more becoming red & off white. Not sure why -  maybe unplanned cross pollination without Ron there to nurture the plants properly. Here's the only healthy looking true K-M rose there last week...

Wishing all of us a great week.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

That is a beauty Dave! Years ago in camera club the top score for a photo entered was 45 points. Three Judges 15 points apiece. Not easy.
This is a 45 in my book!

Youngest Grandson graduated last weekend from Law enforcement training. A two year course. He did well. Has a job lined up in the town he grew up in. It is a four hour drive when I go out there. Along the way on the interstate there is a scene I would love to capture but no way to stop. Railroad grain cars along a siding four tracks wide with the grain elevator in the background. The end of the tracks are right next to the road.

Thank you for the kind response Rich

Ron's K-M roses are the only ones I've seen - it would be a loss if they didn't survive

Thanks, Dave, for starting off the week with this gorgeous rose photo.  I am sure that Ron's rose soil could use a little nutrient boost, but do not tell THIS ROSE that! It almost looks like you bounced a flash off of a whiteboard or something to add white light to the underside.  The colors are truly popping and exciting.

Your discussion reminded me that I should give my own roses some fertilizer even though they look so hardy this spring. It has got to be all the rain that we had and cool temps.  Just like today.  Although they are expecting a high of 80 on Tuesday, it will only be in the 30's on Wednesday morning, BRRRRRRRRR.

I started posting a photo from the weekend's trip in Tuesday's thread.  I will continue the rest of this week to add more.

Oh Rich, too bad you missed that shot.  Dang it.  It sounds so cool.  And I am sure it would have made the perfect reference for one of your watercolor paintings.

Thank you Rich for your kind response to the photo.

Lorell, thank you too. It saddens me to see Ron's roses deteriorate, but on the other hand the rare survivors are treasures to be appreciated.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Lorell, your weather mimics ours. AC one day furnace the next!
That scene is always there when I go out west. Unfortunately impossible to stop on the interstate for a photo-op!
