Good morning all. Looks like another nice day here today, although rain is coming and will last a few days. Also hot temps.

I haven't been posting a lot lately but I do check in regularly to make sure all is running OK. I always enjoy the great photos that are posted!

Yesterday the weather was ideal for a motorcycle ride so I decided to take a ride down to Plains, Georgia. These "snapshots" were all taken with my phone. I have some of my good camera equipment all organized and packed into one of my photo back packs in preparation for an upcoming trip. We are leaving Wednesday for a 10 day road trip through Iceland. Hopefully I will have some decent photos to share when we get back.

A couple of photos of Plains main street.  Had a nice grilled chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries at a little cafe called Buffalo's Cafe. Jimmy Carter's presidential campaign headquarters.

All in all a nice little outing a good way to spend the morning and early afternoon.

Walked across the street to find a place for lunch.

Thanks for starting our Daily, Don. Have a good Iceland trip, and I'm eager to see photos.

Iceland is on my list of places that I would like to visit; others are Costa Rica, Scotland & Ireland, Australia & New Zealand, and Olduvai Gorge in Africa (because I've been fascinared by human evolution since I was in my teens).

Yesterday was a good photo day for me: it had rained the night before and the flowers were colorful and abundant, and decorated with natural water drops.

Here's one photo that I quite like for it's simplicity, the lovely greens, and the ideal morning light: an unopened California poppy...

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Very nice photo Dave. You really have the flower technique nailed.

Sad that there is so little activity. Days like this with no posters is one of the reasons that I don't post much anymore. The future of the forum looks bleak.

I have to say that I have been preoccupied lately with a new hobby that has taken up a lot of my time.
My camera has not had much use lately although I will be going on a field trip with my camera club next weekend as long as the weather cooperates.  I should have something more to share at that time.
I like your interior shot of the diner.  Looks like a pretty quiet setting.

I enjoyed your photos, Don, and am blown away about your trip to ICELAND.  Oh my, it is supposed to be gorgeous and a mecca for photographers.  I sure do hope that you bring us back a bunch of photos.

Dave. I think the bud is stunning with good colors and details. How lucky of you to find one with the drops of water on it adding another layer of interest.

I haven't been on any trips anywhere of late. So there are no new shots of new things. Most of the stuff on my Flickr is taken in or just outside my backyard.
I'm getting boring.
I do like the photos above.
Dave is good with framing flowers.
Don's trip photos are full of information. It did impress me that a man could run for president from such humble beginnings.

Thanks Don, Lorell, and MFI.

MFI, most of my photos are taken in my yard or within a few miles as I take my daily walks. I too am stuck in a rut, cranking out the same kind of images time after time.

I have been worried about the declining participation. I've invited a number of folks to join, but I don't think any have. I no longer belong to my local art league or photo club, so I can't spread the word there about FotoFriends. I wonder if Lorell and others who are members of photo clubs have had better luck than I've had at attracting new members to the site.

Same here Dave. I invited one of my photo friends to join and she did register, but never posted. I finally deleted her account. We have 12 members but only about 5 are really active. I don't include myself in the number of active members. A few visit on occasion, but a lot of times don't post. We had several people register when we first started this forum, but most never posted, or only posted once at the beginning. Since then they have not posted or even checked in, I have deleted those members. I don't think we need to become a mega site, but it would be nice to have perhaps 20 or so fairly active members. On the other hand, our little group seems to get along nicely, so that is a definite plus.
