Happy Hump Day, everyone.

Monday was a day of intermittent rain here. I managed to time my walks well enough to avoid getting soaked. Here's one shot taken during a mid-morning walk on Monday...

Because I usually shoot with shutter speed and aperture settings to minimize blur from hand tremors I was surprised the shot wasn't a blurred or grainy reject. Below is something close to what I started with SOOTC, although it was actually much darker - I lightened this a bit to show some barely discernible detail, otherwise it would be nearly flat black...

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

From Monday:

I didn't know the site was down, thanks Don!

Dave, interesting succulent as is your usual! I like how it gets soft at the top and comes back into sharpness. Gives a feeling of depth! Well exposed.

Grant, your frost creations are amazing! Something to do on a grey, cold day!

Peter, well seen and exposed!

Today:
Beautiful rose Dave, well done on the adjustment.

Coming to the party late. The images Monday inspired me to find a few of my manips done in a free software program I cannot spell and neither can spell check. Dave will probably know.
Here is one I called Mardi Gras, in honor of the upcoming party in New Orleans. I added the starbursts to the finished mask.

Thanks Rich.

That's a pretty neat digital image.

Years ago I used several digital manip apps, but have forgotten the names names except for one - something like Apophysis, if I remember correctly.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Dave, YES! Good job. Apophysis software. I looked it up and is still free. I recommend you have an antivirus program if you download. Years ago some people say they got a virus from it but I never did.

That's an amazing transformation Dave. My shots like that usually come out poorly when I try to enhance them.

As you might have guessed, my main aim is to have something at least closely approximating a clear photo come out of the camera. Yes I play around a lot and if using the DSLR, none of my lenses are digital. So a lot of exposure guessing, goes wrong.

Some of my experimental photography works sort of OK.

Peter, those look like little balls of mercury floating in air.
Rich, love the manip.. It is so unique.
Dave, I am glad that you found some fresh roses to photograph. Amazing color and exposure recovery. Do you shoot raw?
