I thought i would start the day with something a bit different. I was looking at the photos from the photo walk and got to playing around with some Topaz software.

May be back later this afternoon after getting back from the Ga National Fair.

Good morning, Don.
Well, your B&W is very interesting.  It is a good composition, but I cannot determine what that person has on their face.  That makes it a little scary.  I like the body position and hand position, the depth that you captured in the back.  But his face, Oh My!
The web has great detail.  It would have been a good entry for my local club's last meeting where we were challenged with that topic.

Well, as promised.  Here is the photo I worked on last evening as per our conversation about the video I shared. Last year when I visited Stahl's Automotive museum I purposely took some ICM shots hoping to use them for a FLICKR challenge.  I was not pleased with any of them.  But after watching the video, I attempted to put more than one shot together, and here is the result.

Is it good?  It is just okay.
Will it appeal to others?  Some YES, some definitely, NO.
Was it fun to do, YES.
Do I like it better than each individual shot that I took?  Definitely Yes

Don't worry about me, I talk to myself all the time!
Have a great Friday all.  Hope you are having a Photo Day a the National FAIR, DON, must be a big one.  Thanks for starting our daily.

Greetings to Everyone!
Sorry about not being around much lately. I have been working on holiday projects and we have been busy on weekends and haven't had any fun shoots.
We hope to get out this weekend and look for fall color (still a bit early here, so we may have to drive a bit north)
Family in Central Florida came through the hurricane without incident.
(on the ranch) They had no damage and no water issues. I was concerned because their home is surrounded by live oak. You can't even see their roof in an aerial they are so tucked in. They lost power for all of 5 minutes. Amazing since they live out in the rural/ag area.
We are grateful. Usually DD comes up here for hurricanes and her DH stays there because he has to be at the ranch the day after.
(check cattle and fences etc).

Don, I'm not going to question the humans condition. I assume he is wearing a mask, but his attitude says a lot. It's an interesting photo. Texture, depth and strong verticals to contrast with the slouching form. Good framing.
Great web capture!

HI Lorell!
Well your vintage cars look like they are passing each other at high speed!
I'd call that one "Rush Hour"!
Nice work..and I like it! It's different!

I present a study in "static boredom"!

Thanks y'all for the comments. It was processed through a filter so that totally changed the face. No mask, but he did have a beard. Pretty sure he might be homeless. I've seen him on that corner a few times. I think I will delete that image.

I like that car photo Lorell. I am going to try for some ICM and other in camera things when in the Smokies in a few weeks. Patty, that looks like a Cracker Barell to me. Seldom seen one that empty though. Nice title.

Zero for four on the photo entries at the fair - not even an honorable mention this year. I saw some pretty good entries.

Yes, that’s a Cracker Barrel! Lunch time.
Well, your photos should number one —-please you!
Judges can be influenced by many things so, don’t think they weren’t worthy

Your man on the bench photo was neither exploitive nor offensive.

You can always pretty much count on CB to be consistent. We eat there regularly, especially when traveling and want a better breakfast than what we would get in a hotel.

Judges can indeed be influenced, and the same judge would probably pick different photos if he or she viewed them all 3 days later. I have heard judges actually say that they could look at the same photos the next day and pick entirely different "winners". I know they were pretty good photos, at least to me, and I liked them, but of course can't help but be disappointed. What's worse is that now we have to make another 1.5 hour drive over to Perry to pick them up in a couple of weeks. Smile  I told DW I wanted to just leave them but she said no, she wanted to give them to her sister or our daughter. So, we will be going back either the 18th or 19th.

Don...WoW! Th dark BG really makes this one pop! Well seen and captured!
Was looking for the other photo and then saw you deleted it.

Lorell, lots of movement in a static photo, I like it! Good title Patty!

Patty, glad all was well in FL.
That looks just like the one I go to on occasion, imagine that! As Don said, I have not seen ours that empty!

Don, I have always said with photos and art you only have to please two people, you and the buyer! After 20 years in a camera club I know judges bring a lot of bias to the table.

I spent most of the afternoon yesterday trying to fix a minor detail on a website I take care of for our Concert series. No luck. Will try again today!

Speaking of empty Cracker Barells, DW and I went to the local one a few weeks ago and noticed there were not a lot of cars in the lot. "Great, no wait" we thought. Go inside, many open tables... and a 20 to 30 minute wait. WHAT??? Turns out there were only 2 servers working and they have been unable to hire more. No one wants to work I guess. We ended up going somewhere else to eat.

Good luck with the web site Rich. I recently revamped my music web site and need to work on my photo web site as well.

Don, that web shows up very well....what a good find, and the light was just right.....Everyone is talking about a face? I never did see a photo with a face? human condition? attitude? what am I missing? Ah, I see you deleted it!
Hi, Lorell.....interesting shot combination......it reminds me of SPEED....as if you caught the cars in motion. Exactly what Patty said!!! Nice!
Damar, so glad your family in FLorida made it ok....it's always scary when those hurricanes go through...you just don't know what could happen. So much damage in the south....when will they ever get it all cleaned up and rebuilt....so much to do.....Your photo reminds me of where I ate Sunday afternoon....LOL! Except the things on the walls had to do with seafood and oceans but very similar setup...sorry I did not take a photo.
Hi, Rich! Hope you get your website to cooperate....I'm sure it's a lot of work to get things right.
