Good afternoon, everyone!  Picked a peck of string beans......as I was washing them I saw some eggs on one of them.....
too hot to do anything outside, need to cut some more grass as I finally got the mower fixed, again....crossing my fingers that it stays fixed for the rest of the summer!!

Hi Natalie! Thanks for starting the weekend thread!
Isn't it amazing how neat and orderly those tiny eggs are?
Thats a good closeup and nice composition!

Lawn mowing: it's hot here too and that is on the list for today.

Last evening I sat outside watching bees buzzing around my lavender plants:

Thanks, Natalie!
I hope they are in the back yard working on my tomato and cucumber blossoms!
What are you planning to do with you current green bean harvest?
Enough to use fresh? Freeze or can?
I got the smallest All American canner they make and its nice to just do small batches.
It will hold 7 pints or 4 quarts. I can mostly in pints (chicken, beef, chile, BBQ pulled pork etc)

Natalie, great close up, nice lighting. What are the eggs from? I have never seen this.
Well bless your pea... uh.... bean pickin' heart! That's a lot!

WoW Patty that bee looks huge! Good one! My favorite color!

Here is a house that is screaming Happy 4th of July. Back in my day it was smothered in trees, we all thought it was haunted. They decorate for many holiday's. I love the porch.

That house is so pretty, Rich!
Perfect design for a corner lot too.

Hi MFIB: we have a problem with non-native stink bugs here.
It hasn't been too bad here in the last year, but a few years ago they were lined up around windows and doors looking to find an opening to get inside and winter over.
We learned never to agitate or crush them and especially do not suck them up in a vacuum cleaner!
(cause they put a stink on ya)  Nasty creatures.

This may be a skipper

Patty,
Thanks for looking. I put the house on my FB page and a lot of locals and former locals are lovin' it!

That's a very striking photo with the brilliant complementary colors! High interest too!

I don't know if we have a stink bug here but probably do.

I heard that Japanese beetles are becoming a big problem in the US.

Japanese beetles have been a problem for ages. People, put pheromone baited traps out and it makes it worse. They were so bad back in the 90s, I bought a pair of baby mallard ducks and I lived in a residential area (but a 1 acre lot) which helped with the beetles and crickets (spider crickets).
Larva lives in the ground and like clock work they emerge June first.
This is the first year we have had them here in a long time, so I guess they run in cycles.

Rich that house has an amazing roof detail!
