My comments in the now-deleted duplicate thread about this fine photo noted that the black bee was nicely set against the warm yellow, which was set against and surrounded by the beautiful greens. I'll add that the sharpness and focus are expertly managed, and leading lines are effective, creating a very pleasing image.
Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Thank you, Dave.
I see that if I went to "edit" my post in the other thread that there was an option to delete.
But it takes the entire thread out.
I've been looking at macro lenses (for my Fuji) but decided to hold off.
I have so much Nikon gear already and its good to take it out and use it once in awhile.
(so the internal clock battery doesn't die)
Right now I have the Nikon 300mm prime on my little Nikon D3300 and I get some decent looking close ups.
I hope to find something to shoot this afternoon. (it rained yesterday)
Good closeups
I have been painting rooms so MIA
The previous owner was trendy. Grayed colours. I am not so lighter brighter. I did grab the camera
to record the plantings.
Hello all and must start by saying you all spoiled us yesterday with all the entries to Monday's thread. It is so good to see everyone. To which I will add, I did notice that you have not been around for a while Grant. But seeing as how you are busy painting your house with colors that will boost your spirits and energy, no only will you be happier, but we may see more of you when it is all over. A fresh coat of paint on the walls is like clean windows, it is so new and refreshing looking. And I know with all of your art collectibles that you have purchased over the years, it is going to come out extra special. I think this is your first spring in the new house, right? So, it has to be interesting to see what kinds of perennials come popping up. A new surprise every week, hopefully.
Patty, yesterday's bicycle shot was pretty special. You could not have set it better yourself. And today's busy bee is super sharp and colorful. I don't blame you for dragging your feet about buying a new used lens. I feel the same way about buying another camera body or another lens that I have my eye on, especially since I have not been using my camera that much lately. The story about your DH's uncle was so interesting and amazing that you knew someone who was a possible member of the atomic bomb team. Wow, to be able to talk to someone who has lived the experiences that he endured, had to be so interesting.
Patty, but I found the safe door equally intriguing. How cool was that? An amazing find.
Natalie, I have never seen a green bean arch like that. What kind of fertilizer do you use. It is truly amazing and to think it bares vegies! I hope you like green beans, you sure must have a mess of them.
Dave, Lovely soft pinks in your composition. Have you decided what you are going to do about your malfunctioning lens? Today's sunflower is bright and cheerful. Lucky you, they provide great photo opportunities for taking photos, close-ups, macros, bees, sun flairs poking through the petals, and many more. I am sure you will share more soon.
Don, That was quite the downpour that you captured. A good drenching like that would make my garden real happy. All of our lawns are brown around here. I finally had to break down and turn the sprinkler on this morning. Speaking of sprinklers, how come you can't buy a decent oscillating sprinkler anymore? We have quite the collection of ones that have broken down. They just stop oscillating. Does anyone have suggestions?
hi ya Peter.
Here is one from a walk around the pond up north.
I let the camera manipulate the coloring then I added a frame around it when I got back.
Have a terrific Tuesday,
LORELL
Thank you, Lorell!
Good to see you!
(thanks everyone who commented on DH's Uncle; very much appreciated)
Lorell,
I feel like my Fuji cameras will be my last. They do everything I need them to do and
I wont need a 400 MP camera in the future! LOL.
I'm happy with the Fuji's for walk around because they are mirrorless and light weight and
I have the Nikons and lenses for tripod mount wildlife etc.
(cause I'm done walking around with paparazzi gear that weights 3+ lbs around my neck)
I have plenty of room to improve my skills with what I have.
Your photo strikes great diagonals and nice bokeh!
The mono color scheme works well.
I have some photos from this past Sunday but I need to resize them to post here, so maybe I can get a few done this afternoon.
Good to "see" you here, Grant. That's a very nice image; handled delicately and subtly.
Hi Lorell, and thanks. Who would think of taking a colorful and bright orchid photo and turning it into a medium value mono image? And you did it with great results. The diagonals and the bokeh are superb, and your simulated mat & frame are spot-on.
About my malfunctioning lens: I've been shooting in manual focus. Haven't taken it in to be checked because of several surprise expenses in June, but I hope to do so next month.
Yes, I expect to take many more shots of the sunflowers. 10 of 12 have sprouted and are in various stages of growth. Only the one has flowered, but two more (hopefully of different varieties and colors) should do so by the end of the week.
damar - what a grand, classic building.
Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

What a beautiful sunflower, Dave....so rich!
Patty, love the bee on the flower, cuke? I don't see many honey bees on my cukes, mostly bumble bees. Wonder why that is? As long as they pollinate them, that's what matters. I DO have more honey bees on the clover in the grass now, since I put in a bee hive!!
Hi, Adam! What is that pretty little pink blossom?
Hi, Lorell....thanks for the comment on the arch, it is nice to pick standing up rather than bent over. The beans I planted were bought from Renee's Garden seeds, Pole Filet Beans: French Gold and Emerite. I put some Miracle Grow on them today. Two weeks ago I gave them Masterblend 4-18-38 and some Epsom salt. What a beautiful floral you have there. I like the treatment you gave it and nicely framed....
Great architectural details in that building, Patty and the angle adds interest ....great color in the sky, works well with the brickwork.
