Good day, Foto Friends.

There are early signs that my spring/summer gardening efforts might be productive. All but two of the 12 sunflowers have sprouted; it's looking like we'll have 4 or 5 different varieties.

My 2 x 4 foot raised bed could be 80% successful: radishes are thriving, 3 or 4 different kinds of hot peppers coming along; I have two potted lemon cucumbers and two potted Black Krim tomatoes flowering, although a number of the leaves are yellowing, and that concerns me; another pot with still small seedlings of pear tomatoes; and 10-15 carrots have sprouted in a Home Depot bucket. My wife's berry plants are looking good, and several small pots of various herbs are doing well.

One of the Lemon Cuke flowers...

Not a great photo artistically.

Wishing you all a good day or night.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

So glad your garden is thriving....I planted some peas, tomatoes, one pablano pepper, some cukes (I think I have a lemon cuke, too!) some string beans and I have one bed of strawberries! We had a lot of rain over the last 2 weeks and everything is doing very well!!  Our 16 potted blueberry bushes are loaded with berries so we should have a good crop this year! In one of the raised beds, a couple of lettuces came up from last years seeds?  And boy, I wish we had planted more! I cut them today, and here is one of them, about 12 inches wide! Every leaf was perfect and no bugs!!

and I wanted to share these two hummer shots....you can see when the male turns his neck, he can make the red feathers look black. Amazing little creatures!  with long tongues to reach into those trumpet flowers!!

Hi Dave & Natalie,
Nice garden plant and hummer pics. I just came in from the garden after repotting some tomato and pepper plants. My lettuce is not as advanced as yours, Natalie, but I have a Butter Crunch that looks like that, some leaf and Romaine coming along. I see my pole beans are starting to emerge so I covered them with some bird netting to keep the pesky robins from plucking them out. I'll put my sprouted pickling cukes out in the raised bed soon and am waiting to see the first bush bean to poke up. Great weather here finally.

Winter has arrived on the first day of June, as it always does.

Not my photo and not here where I live but it is not far away from here.
It will snow down to about 800 metres but my nearest hill is only 451m. A few mm of snow falls there about once every 30 years or so.
Absolutely gorgeous shots of the hummingbird.
Happiness simply is.
There need be no pursuit.

Thanks, Peter. WINTER? Yikes.....I am so glad it's not winter here, had enough. However, it was 92 today, and that's just not right for May here!!

92˚F? That's hot for you in early summer.

Yes. Weather has been crazy. Turn on heat one day, turn on air conditioners next day. Today hot again.  Huh

and there are people who still deny the climate is changing.
I'm stumped.
