Looks like everybody (in the US, anyway) got an early start to celebrating the Memorial Day weekend.

Hope it's a good weekend for you all.

Here is a BRIGHT Ketchup-and-Mustard rose (two of them, actually) taken several days ago...

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Dave, that's one beauty of a rose. Hope you and others have a good Memorial weekend. I've been in the garden and greenhouse trimming and setting supports for my tomatoes that are getting stouter and taller with the good weather. Trim a few suckers and propagate some new tomato plants from suckers. I did manage to get out and retake a photo of the old abandoned tractor covered with blackberry vines. Now its appearance is more concealed with the onset of the vine leaves.

Looks like the weekend here is going to have some wonderful weather. That's great as we have had LOTS of rain almost every day for 2 weeks!! Lot's of Memorial Day activities going on around the country in honor of the Fallen, so I hope they have decent weather, too. Have a great weekend, everyone.
Beautiful! Dave, do you have any roses on  your property? You obviously love roses, I hope you plant some of your own. I am still tempted to plant that pink rose I wanted to buy the other day....it smelled so wonderful. I have two scraggly roses right now....and in a couple of weeks, the Japanese beetles will arive and eat all the buds and blooms. I only get about 3 blooms from each, but oh, my, the aroma. Both are Mr. Lincoln red velvety rose!!!
Steve, love your tractor!  It's lost it's original purpose but still giving .....
I used to have a lot of rabbits around here, but a few years ago I noticed we had foxes running through my land, and I have not seen many rabbits....it's a shame, but also a blessing to me, as I have to cut the grass, and I do not want to be running over baby rabbits!!

Red eyes usually indicates myxomatosis. It does in Australia anyway.
Happiness simply is.
There need be no pursuit.

I used fill flash, that usually does the red eye thing.....

Thanks Quint. Love your tractor image; the light vignetting was a good choice because it really enhances the image.

Hi Natalie, and thanks. No, I don't grow roses myself. My soil is pretty bad, I don't want to use up so much water, I lack knowledge about how to make roses thrive, and my temperament isn't suited to growing something that requires specific carefully timed and executed intervention. But in a 30-minute around my neighborhood I can see and photograph 40 or more rose plants that are flourishing in the yards of folks who know how to do it right.

Great photo of the rabbit - the fill flash made the eye into a beautiful focal point.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!
