AS the end of the month draws near, my brain has trouble remembering which photos I posted earlier this month.  So forgive me if I repost some shots in the next few days. We will start with this one which my club members liked a lot at last week's meeting. I am so thankful for the photographic opportunities that our staff creates for us.

I know that this image is anything but spring-like, but I used to highlight the thrill and the fabulous scenes from one of the club's outings.  This was one of my favorite club shoots ever even though it was a twelve-hour day and with extreme conditions.  There were three of us who can now check off four lighthouses on the southwest coast of Michigan's shoreline from our bucket list.  By the way, the black figure standing and taking a photograph of the lighthouse is our current president of our club.

Have a good day one and all.
I think I may do a little shopping today.
See you all later.

That's an excellent photo, Lorell. (And it illustrates why I'm glad to be living in the warmth of SoCal.)

I think you asked about me growing carrots. I've had success whether grown in pots or in the ground. The key for me is to make sure pots are deep enough and the garden soil is free of stones and deep enough for the carrots to reach their maximum length without becoming deformed by stones or the bottom of pots. One thing I'd love to grow but have failed nearly every time is tomatillos.

Some random lily shot a few weeks ago...

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

WoW Lorell! I can see why they liked it! Love the perspective, The cloud bank perfectly level, the touch of red and perfect composition! Sharpness from front to back!

I make a monthly folder of posted photos for foto friends and facebook. Helps me.

Here is a drake and hen mallard that have taken up residence in our drainage ditch that doesn't always drain. Taken through window glass and handheld at 960 mm. A little soft.

Dave, lovely springtime lily!

Dave, thanks for the information on the carrots. Tell me, do they taste better homegrown? Lovely lilly, so bright and cheerful. You captured a lot of detail in that shot too.

Rich, Thanks for the detailed comments. It only got up to 17 degrees that day, but we were dressed warm and luckily I brought those hand warmer glove inserts, and boy that helped. I brought enough for the guys too and they were very pleased too.

Cute Mallard shot. Soon you will have little quackers to photograph. I am excited because we have been watching a robin's nest which is about three feet from the ground and built into a bush along our side fence. The three blue eggs were hatched over the weekend and soon I know we will be hearing the chirping of little ones. I am not sure I can photograph the chicks. I certainly don't want to disturb anything. I am amazed that the nest is so low to the ground.

Well, time to venture out even though it looks like it is going to start raining any minute.

I thought I posted to this thread, but sometimes I hit enter instead of post and think I posted but didn't. Grrrr....hate senior moments like that!

Lorell, that is COLD! But what drama that ice creates! Great shot!!

Dave, that's a beautiful lily....It really pops against the muted greens!!

Rich, when those babies come waddling out one day, have your camera ready!! Nice shot of a lovely couple!!
