Hi Folks
Yesterday morning DW and I went out to photograph the blood moon. It's the first time I have ever tried this, and the weather was perfect. The episode started at 03:32 and supposedly ended at 07:55, but my last shot was at 07:24, when the top of the moon dipped below the distant mountains.
This shot was taken at about 06:15, when the moon was just past max eclipse. I used my 24-240 lens set at 240 and focused using the micro focus ring. The camera was set on manual, F11, ISO 1600, and was set at 4 sec at that time. This was actually too slow to completely get rid of motion blur, next time (if there ever is one) I would aim for a 1 sec exposure or less - the earlier shots at 1/500 th are much sharper.
I worked on this image a bit. However, whether or not this is an improvement on the raw file is debatable!
regards - Peter
