Good day Friends. A beautiful day in SD. Highs in the 70's very light wind and sunshine. Been hazy here with smoke coming down from Canadian fires.

Here are a couple of shots from a trip to Yosemite National Park a few years ago. This is Ansel Adams stomping grounds. Half dome and BridalVeil Falls.

Awe-inspiring, majestic and humbling images, Rich. Very nice!

I'm guessing Yosemite, even though some scenes I saw in the Canadian Rockies over 30 years ago were similar.

I just finished some moderate gardening, and I'm sure my back pains will flare up tomorrow. I sowed some seeds of two heirloom tomatoes: 1) Black Krim, my absolute favorite; and 2) Yellow Pear grape tomatoes, with a wonderfully sweet and rich taste. Still need to sow seeds of moderately hot banana peppers, but gotta get more potting soil first.

I have no photos as grand as yours to share, just one of white flowers that my wife out in a hanging basket last week and taken  days ago.

Happy Hump Day to all.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Are not the Rocky mountains the same range that goes through Yosemitie?
Yes Don, as Dave said, "Awe-inspiring, majestic and humbling images".
And, lovely flowers Dave. I'm forgetting or don't know the plant name. Nice against the tones in the wall. Makes the flowers bounce.

Still haven't sorted all the photos I've taken in the past month.
There's always the odd photo of my favourite of the cockatoos.

Had fun trying to capture these soaring pelicans above my backyard. The beauty of the Nikon P950 is the zoom. It is hard to hold steady but takes a decent enough picture.

Thank you, MFI.

Yosemite is in the Sierra Nevada range, which I believe is considered a part of the Rockies. The Rocky Mountain range stretches over 3000 miles (4828 km) from northern New Mexico in the USA to northern British Columbia in Canada. The Rockies are a young range which makes them quite jagged and probably accounts for their name.

Great photo of the cockatoos. And I love your shot of the high flying pelicans against the white clouds.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Dave, awesome photo, looks 3D to me with the OOF background and soft lighting!

Peter, the Yosimite photos are mine not Don's. Thanks for the comment. I am no expert on the range of the mountains but from Google, this:

The Sierra Nevada Mountain Range is a separate Range from the Rocky Mountains. Comprised primarily of granite, the Sierra Nevada Mountains stretch over 250 miles from the Cascade Mountains in Northern California into the Mojave Desert. The peaks of the Sierra Nevadas range from around 11,000 to 14,000 feet high.

The Cockatoo is a pretty bird for sure! Pelican and cloud photos pretty cool!

Thank you Rich.

And an additional thanks for correcting me about the Sierra Nevada range.

Maybe we should start wearing name tags!
