It is called Fleshy Mistletoe and despite apparently being a parasite, it doesn't kill it's host.

Interesting structure and lovely colors.

Sticking with the botanical theme, here is a tree that I pass by every day on my early morning walk.

I've forgotten what type of tree this is, but I can tell you that it is huge: I estimate it to be at least 100 feet (30.5 meters) tall.

Out of frame at the bottom is a house. Also not seen here is a fast spreading plant with red flowers (bottle brush, maybe?) that if not trimmed every year or two will climb alll the way to the top.

The tree and the plant combine into a majestic sight.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Eucalyptus leucoxylon rosea, most likely candidate. I'd expect it possible that Eucalypts grow faster and taller in different climes. One E. globulus notably planted in Kew Gardens managed to grow 125 ft in 12 months.
