Greetings Friends! No daily yesterday , lets see what today brings!
Here is the World's Only Corn Palace in all its splendor.
The front panel showing Billy Mills, the winner of the  Olympic 10,000 meter run in Tokyo in 1964. A Native American born in South Dakota.
The panels for 2024 will all be of famous South Dakotans.

Rich, your very fine photo shows why your city is so justifiable pround of the Corn Palace.

How's the rehab going? Are you back to normal mobility?

A little scene of various leaves from our inner front yard, taken a few days ago...

I recently bought a larger (22 TB) external hard drive to serve as a backup for my data (mostly years of photos) and have been copying the data to it – taking a long time.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Thanks Dave!

The PT said I was doing so good that Medicare said no more.I am a member of the Rec Center so I swim three days a week and work the hip on a few machines with a personal trainer. Doing quite well. Thanks for asking.

Love that photo! Very peaceful and the touch of purple on the tip really adds interest!

I buy a new external hard drive every few years just in case. Have a few stacked up.

Good to hear you are doing so well Rich. Hard work pays off...  I enjoy seeing your photos of the corn palace. Obviously something the town takes pride with and always does a great job with it.

Nice image Dave. Kind of moody, and that little patch of purple stands out and gives a  nice balance.

" I recently bought a larger (22 TB) external hard drive to serve as a backup for my data " - wow, that is a large drive. I have never even thought about a hard drive that large. I did recently purchase a 1 TB external SSD drive to take with me traveling to keep a running back up of photos taken on a trip. I have some mechanical drives that I would take but hopefully the SSD will be a bit faster and less likely to fail, although to be fair the other ones have been fine.

Rich, so good to hear that your dedication to recovering your mobility has paid off. Way to go guy.
The palace is beautiful as usual. I like it all in blue too.

Dave,
That is a heck of a composition and with eye-catching color and highlights. This might be a favorite of mine for a while.

Good work you two.

22 TB, Holy cow, that is huge. I think the biggest I have is a 2 or 4. We have come a long way from whence we started on floppies, haven't we?

Thanks Rich, Don, and Lorell.

Yeah, 22 TB ought to last me for a while. I had researched various makes and models of external hard drives before choosing one. I could have purchased it at Amazon, WalMart, or direct from Western Digital. I went with WD because: 1) I hate Amazon; 2) Walmart often ships items that other buyers have returned, and I won't spend my $$ on something that another person found unsatisfactory. Buying direct from the manufacturer was a good choice: their base price matched all others, and I decided to pay extra for i-day shipping. To my surprise the drive arrived less than 24 hours after I placed the order.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Win Win there, Dave. Smile

I also want to add to what others have said about your image but I think they have said it all. It just works. Smile

The blue corn palace is a different view than the usual.
Happiness simply is.
There need be no pursuit.
