Every now and then I try to do the opposite of my preferred “strong colors against a dark background” style...

Here's hoping it's a good day for all of us.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Lovely. Not a sign of a thorn. Smile

Today, Thursday went from 4˚C to 28˚C.
Tomorrow, which is now actually today because Thursday was yesterday; Friday 29 September
Summary

Min 5

Sunny.
Chance of any rain: 0%
Light winds.

Some may call them nanna naps but in my case it has something to do with Ross River Virus and maybe something that paralysis ticks did to my system. I can't help it. When I sit down, almost instantly start falling asleep. It is a sleep difficult to wake from.

Your high-key image of the beautiful rosebud is an uplifting and energizing capture.  Nice bokeh too.

Peter, I am so sorry to hear about your struggles with the health issue that has taken over your body.  I cannot imagine struggling to stay awake when I struggle to get a good night's sleep. If you nap a lot during the day, do you have problems sleeping at night?

However, I chose this image to share to give you both a nice soft place to rest your bodies, Peter and DAVE.  Dave, hopefully your back is getting better by the day. This makes me sleepy just looking at it.

Yes Lorell, I do spend some time wandering around wondering what I can do while being awake at some odd hour.

Luckily, the car in your excellent photo would likely not go fast enough to kill me while I slept.

I may or may not have shown a photo of a pink bugle but here it is again.

Here is the usual purple bugle.

Ajuga australis is a common understorey plant of south eastern forests.

These grown from cuttings collected from local mallee forests and placed in my native garden.

Another odd but interesting AUSSIE flower. It sort of looks like someone reclining on their back, arms open wide with yellow piercing eyes. I love the close up with the great details and bokeh background and the dappled light in the second.

Thanks for your comment on the bokeh etc., Lorell. Smile
Now for the facts.
Aussies only have two species from this genus. Wink https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ajuga So that leaves at least 58 species not found in Ausralia.

Thanks Lorell. Wow - those seats look plush and luxurious.

MFI, thanks for sharing more of Australia's fascinating flora. Excellent photos, as Lorell noted.

Several of us deal with sleep issues of different sorts. MFI, yours is one I would find especially frustrating to deal with. As for me, I rarely get enough sleep – usually no more than 6 hours in a 24 hour span, and they come in 2 or 3 attempts. Of course that often means that I fall asleep when I don't intend to; sometimes sitting in front of the computer, other times hanging out with Pippin as I try to read a book.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!
