Anybody around?

I haven't taken any photos for several days; had some things come up that I needed to address.

But I did get out for an early walk today at the right time to see the strong early sunlight strike some untended succulents. I like the diagonal and I think the colors turned out beautiful.

I hope all is well with those in our small group.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Greetings Dave! Pretty slim pickins around here lately. I like the composition,  lighting and colors of your succulents. Some detail in the shadows, no blown highlights I can see. In camera club judging I would give it a 15 which is the top score one judge can give.

Hope to get some photos tonight or tomorrow night at our annual Corn Palace Festival if the humidity goes down like they are predicting.
Maybe the weekender will have more activity.

Thanks Rich.

I wish you good shooting of the Corn Festival. Are the amazing works of art treated or preserved in some way so they don't deteriorate during extreme heat and humidity?

About time I posted something on this Dave and MFI site. I do look at the images daily, by the way.

Good job on the flower Dave (as usual!).

Thanks for the comments on my Flickr account Rich.

Here's one that I've nearly finished. This month our club set-subject is "Rainy Day". I have this shot from earlier this year that I took just after a rain shower, but the only evidence of that was the shiney cobble stones. So, I used one of my images of a window, and added some water droplets fabricated in PS. Not quite finished yet, but here it is anyway.

C&C welcome.

The Palace murals are usually changed once a year with a new theme. Not this year though. Due to a drought here the corn is immature and not enough. takes about 300,000 ears. Weather has an effect as does the bird and squirrel population. Some repair may be needed but it looks decent.

I did get downtown last night. Had to walk 3 blocks to get there and three back to my car. My new hip got a workout.

Pete, what a great idea. Looks quite natural and the generated raindrops very realistic!

Thanks Pete. Your Photoshop work is amazing; well planned and always completely realistic and mesmerizing.

Thanks for the info Rich.  It sounds like you are progressing well after the hip replacement - 6 blocks this soon after the surgery is indeed quite a workout.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!
