Good day, everyone.

As you know my typical floral style involves the COI bathed in light, emerging from a dark background. I decided to try something different so I went to my archives for an image suitable for a higher-key type of processing, and found one from March 2017...

I hope all in the eastern half of the US are getting through the bad weather.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Good morning, Dave.....what a pretty flower....You have a nice composition, well presented, but I believe I like your usual dark backgrounds better. Was this with a flash?
I, too, went into my archives. Perhaps some may remember my posting this one......I used a real blueberry as the vase and a chickweed blossom. This has always been one of my favorites.....I guess it's about time I printed it and framed it....I did some thrown pottery in college, OH SO MANY years ago....and this blueberry reminds me of the raku glazes.....the form for a vase would have been great to do, too.....may have given me an A in the class.....

It's pouring rain....and cold. only 35° so far, I am ready for warmer weather...ha ha ha......winter can be gloomy and cold.

Natalie, that is indeed a photo worth printing and framing - faultless in all aspects.

You reminded me that I dabbled with pottery way back in high school art class. Somewhere I still have one piece that turned out pretty good.

You are right that my photo above is far from my best, but it felt good to force myself out of my comfort zone for a change. I'll be looking for a chance at new photos better suited for high-key. Meanwhile, I remember a couple I posted years ago on WC!, and if I can find them I may re-post one or two.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

I liked your image anyway Dave. The composition and the colour were very goood to my eye.
I love your raku pot Natalie. I've built a couple of raku kilns. The missus from ironbark was always into pottery in the early days. Is that some form of exotic poppy in the pot?

Anyway here's a misty moisty morning in my home grown forest. Yes I grew everything from seed and planted it out from tubestock.

There is a local Clematis that grows a beard of seeds. We call it old man's beard. After flowering the seeds form then continue to grow long silky tassels.

Grand photos, MFI.

I especially like the landscape - photo #1.

Natalie, you asked if I used flash on my higher-key floral. After nearly 6 years, I don't remember. But the shadows sure look like what a flash would produce so I probably did use flash for this one which is in a dark corner of my inner front yard.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Peter, I see you don't read the words with images posted. I expained what the "pot" was made of...I try to read what people say......it saves a lot of explanations later. Yes, I'm scolding you. Wink

Yes I do deserve scolding. Must have been mixing the words because when I first loooked at the image I thought blueberry, then for some reason attached raku to the image. 'Looks like raku glaze', is what took me away to la la land.
