Hi All,
Hope everyone makes it a great day.
41 degrees here (F) with a wind chill of 36. Tonight will kill off all the beautiful green tomatoes on my plants!
Some of the best looking ones of the season too!

This is from Sundays hike along Rice Creek
(image appears a bit soft in preview mode..hope its ok)

Very nice, damar. I really like the mix of shadowed and sunlit areas.

The final one of my florals from last week...

I hope it is/was/will be a great day for you all.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Thanks Dave,
Your photo proves that a flower does not have to be at peak blossom to be beautiful.
I like the colors and background too. Very pretty!

Just got back from taking our Ella to Pet Supplies Plus to give her a nice shower.  It is a "DO IT YOURSELF" shower and it only costs $5.  They give you shampoo (about 4 different kinds)  and conditioner as well as water, towels, and a blower. It is such a great deal and the best part...NO CLEANUP!  If we had a little dog, we could wash her in the basement laundry tubs, but a 66-pound boxer makes it difficult.  Besides, when we go here, Ella is happy to walk up the stairs and into the shower because she knows that when we are done, we go shopping for her favorite treats.  She is awesome.

Dave, I like the details that are in this bloom.
The lower petal reminds me of the thin skin on the back of hands as we age with thick gangly veins.  Unfortunately, my hands are starting to show their age.

Patty,
Wow, that is pretty Patty, the colors, the contrast, the composition.  I wonder why it is called Rice Creek.  Thanks for starting our daily.

This Thursday is my monthly club Photo Meeting and I have a dilemma.  One of the challenges is SKETCHES.  We are to turn a photo into a sketch.  I am now to the point where I have spent too much time working on this challenge and need to pick three from the ones that I am about to share with you below. I might have to make two posts.  I am eager to get your suggestions, just pick three that you think would best fulfill the "SKETCH" definition. You do not need to critique any or give reasons.  I appreciate your time and judgment.

Choose from Pelicans #1 or #2
River Boat #1, #2
Truck #1, #2
Classic Car #1

this is a test

Dear Lorell,
How do you expect us to pick just ONE?!!!!!!
They are all superb!
The car and the 2nd paddle wheel are my favorites, but they are all really cool!
Winners, all!

Lorell,

My choices are:

1) The first riverboat image because it really does look like a pencil or charcoal sketch.

2) Then that beautiful old car. It's not quite as sketch-like, but enough so to work. And the image is superb.

3) Finally, the first pelican image, although to my eye the water and dock say computer-edited more than sketch. Fortunately, the bird and post do look very much like a sketch.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

My first choice is the second paddle wheeler but it needs a little more contrast like the first one.

Love the car but it doesn't "read" to me as a sketch.
Good luck!
