Another shot from 2025-03-25 when I spent over 90 minutes photographing White Pelicans gorging on large catfish that the city had just stocked in the small artificial lake.

What a game yesterday!  Messi and his Argentine teammates again delivered amazing late-game heroics. Can they do it again vs Spain on Sunday? Unlikely, but so were similar victories in previous games. The odds favor Spain but it's hard to bet against Argentina's resilience.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Well, this is disappointing.

It is?
I've been away from the internet.
Did you miss me?

Thanks for posting a response, MFI.

Yes, I noticed your absence, and Rich's too. Don posts maybe every 4 weeks or so and Quint every month or so. But Lorell seems to be gone for good.

in addition to missing my Foto Friends I also miss is having a more active site; one where I could get honest C&C. Looks like I'll have to start looking for one to switch to.

I've been having camera problems: on power-up it shows some sort of obscure settings screen (settings I've never used), and I can't get out of it. Consequently I've lost the ability to preview photos that I've just taken, so I can no longer adjust my settings and reshoot if things like exposure, contrast, DOF and white balance are off.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Yes. I miss everybody too. However, the world has changed and not necessarily for the better.
How old is the camera? Is it the Nikon 7500? Did you drop it or has it had any exposure to moisture?

Here is another of one of my fave local native plants, the same as before but it is such a beautiful plant worth painting.

That is a lovely  plant: beautiful light blue blossoms displayed in a graceful arc. In your photo the shallow DOF does a great job of emphasizing the foreground plant. Top-notch photo!

Regarding my camera woes: yes it's the 7500. It was damaged in a fall I took a couple of years ago; I had it repaired and all was working well until recently. Hasn't been exposed to moisture.

Maybe my clumsy fingers accidentally hit an unintended button - kind of equivalent to a butt dial with a cell phone. I guess I'll need to take it down to my local camera shop and ask if they can get it back to normal.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Thanks Dave.
Damage from a fall may not always be immediately evident. Contacts may still contact but over time lose that contact.
My Ollympus TG-1 is a tough little camera but I'm as rough as one gets and have dropped it a couple of times. Much later, it started having issues. It no longer charges the battery through the connection and if I leave it plugged in to the computer, the battery goes flat, Whereas it never did that before. Recently I've had trouble when plugging to the computer as it won't read the camera card.

and I didn't vote for him either.
