Good day to you all.
I chose to produce a floral image that wasn't dark; this is another taken 2024/02/21, a morning when the rains finally stopped, everything was clean, the light was wonderful, and the colors pure...
I FINALLY got my broken Nikon lens back. Cost $279 but it appears to be as good as new.
Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

That is a nice photo Dave - very "refreshing" looking. Not sure I have seen a plant like that before.
Good to hear that you have your lens back. You might recall a few months ago I purchased a Panasonic Lumix ZS80 small point and shoot camera (used) that I hoped would work for a travel camera. I have a couple of trips coming up where I don't really want to be burdened by my bigger cameras. While the SX80 is a good little camera, I decided it wouldn't really give me the results that I wanted - being really small the sensor was of course small as well. Low light images were pretty noisy. So, I have traded it in for a Panasonic Lumix ZS200, also used. I hope to get it by the end of the week but it might not arrive until next week. Still small but a much larger sensor.
I took this photo on our Panama Canal cruise during one of the port visits. I liked the bright, contrasting colors.

Well done Dave! Good presentation! Good to have your lens back!
Don, that's a great shot! Great colors and interest! You will enjoy your new camera!
Roller coaster ride on our weather, 69F yesterday, blue sky and light wind. This morning 21 F, 35 MPH winds and light snow. I live in the land of infinite variety!
Here is one from my Panama Canal Cruise Jan 2020. Doing a zipline in Nicaragua. It was 2.5 miles long through the jungle with 14 stops. I was very tired when done!
I've never done a zip line Rich. There is a park just north of us that has some and actually there is a local one that goes across the Chattahoochee river from the Georgia side to the Alabama side. We didn't have a port call in Nicaragua on our trip although we did a mission trip to build houses in the interior about 24 years ago. Got to swim in Lake Nicaragua, the largest lake in Central America. It also has sharks! We didn't see any though.
My "new to me" camera is set to arrive tomorrow and I hope to try it out Saturday. Two of our grandsons are competing at the state lever wrestling match on Saturday. We will be rising at 0500 to drive the hour and a half east to get there in time for the match to start.

Dave, I really like the colors and polka dots on this plant. Yes, it's nice and clean, bright! Good capture. Those two water drops on the central leaf could be protruding eyeballs, like on a praying mantis....LOL! Even have pupils...I hope the fix on your lens lasts a good long time...it's expensive to have something worked on!!
Don, your Catch 22 shot has great colors...Good eye finding that abstract image! Great catch!
Rich, zipline!! I would love to do that one!! 12 years ago in Alaska I did one, only about 700 feet, but it was a first for me, and I enjoyed it! Yeah, I don't like this up and down weather..One day almost 70 but drops to the 20's at night, rain and in the low 40's next day then back up to the high 60's. And rain. But, as they say, spring showers bring the flowers, or something like that. I have a few daffodils blooming right now....After the rain stops, I might try to shoot one.
I've never been to Nicaragua, I envy Don and Rich! I hope your new camera works well for your trip. Enjoy trying it out at your gs's wrestling match! Hope he does well....
My weather has been erratic too, but at least not as extreme as you experienced. Right now (11:45 AM) it's about 64 F in the shade and 70 in the bright sun, but by Saturday it'll be raining again and probably won't reach the 60s.
Hi Natalie, and thanks for your comments. I hope all is well with you.
It's good to have my lens (18 - 300mm) back, but after over a month it took me a while to remember how to use the Nikon Camera - lots of dials and buttons. I had a lot of trouble getting burst mode back, but I think everything is pretty close to being back where I want it.
Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!
